Folks watching this video: this definitely can't be considered congee. It's actually a disservice to claim it as such. It would be more accurate to say this is your take on it, or a congee-inspired version of porridge. No congee has maple syrup in it.

BTW, a great thing about quinoa is that it is a complete protein 8 g in one cup (5 g fiber). You don't eat it and have to think "Do I eat almonds or peanuts with this?"

Tip - don't waste your money on "pre-rinsed" or "washed" quinoa. I've found that even those products benefit from rinsing. And it's a markup for something that is simple to do yourself. Definitely going to try this recipe soon... looks delicious.

The only mixed vegetables that I like are in salad. I have an aversion to the ones you used. I’m thinking more along the way of broccoli or cauliflower. So I supposed I could leave them out or just use veggies that I like? Other than that I love quinoa! It also makes a great cold salad with onions, cukes, tomatoes, salt & pepper in a vinaigrette dressing of your choice.
Interesting will have to try and see if the Mrs will like it she isn’t a fan of quinoa.

Thank you for this recipe. I made it last night and was very tasty. If I make it again I would make a few changes to suit my tastes though. First, I would double the minced garlic. Cut the beef broth to 1/2 cup or eliminate completely and just use 1/2 water. The broth made it soupy even with the slurry and overwhelmed the flavor of the sauces. I like my sauce thick. I also would add a bit of white pepper. Lastly, I would eliminate the instant pot. It really didn't serve a purpose other than a stirring bowl. The chicken and onions could be cooked on the stovetop just as fast. No wok needed since the veggies are steamed in the microwave.
A year after my first comment I’m still making this soup. It’s in the instant pot coming to pressure as I type. I mix kale and spinach and have experimented with a variety of Better than Bouillon flavors and it always comes out delicious.
I'd add bacon tips too

Does it matter if you sear it before, or if you just sear it once, at the end?
I always go to this for My quick meatballs now,,but I'm using sour dough bread crumbs and I made double the batch,,,,wish me luck,,,and I extended the cooking time for 2 mins more and I'm gonna do a slow release after 10 mins 😂🤞🤞🤞
Jeffrey,try adding oregano and basil to your seasoning, they add a lot of missing flavor, I prefer the Boursin garlic and herbs cheese. Man what a creamy addition, much better than boring sour cream.
I just made this this morning! I have a 3 quart and used a smaller Pyrex bowl with 4 eggs. They turned out PERFECT!!!!! I hate making hard boiled eggs the old fashioned way, so this is the way I'm going to do it from now on! Thanks, Jeffery!

Cube steak is only good for making chicken fried steak. Much easier to make stove top in a skillet. Just be sure to season your dredge flour heavily. Reference to Rachel cooks with love channel.
I set my instant pot to egg and it cooks them perfectly in 6 min with a quick release. And the peel easily

How do you fix it if too much water was added and the brown rice comes out mushy? 😭
You are the second best cook I've ever known. Number one is my Mom. She rescued me from her pressure cooker, seventy-five years ago. It took her many days to clean the kitchen walls and ceiling. I always have four cookbooks in the trunk of my car (your instant pot editions) in case I need something to read at the doctor offices, etc. I pre-ordered #5 several months ago and can hardly wait for #6.
If you are making double the pasta on this recipe, do you also double the broth ?
