So nice to see a good old fashioned basic recipe for corned beef and cabbage. But updated for the insta pot. Although we never cook carrots or onions with ours. We have never cared for the flavor profile. I may just try it in the instant pot this year. Going to watch your other video now. Oh, have you showed people how to choose a corned beef for cooking?

Mary, made my corned beef in the Instant Pot - I did put a can of Guinness and then added water to come up to the meat otherwise followed your recipe. I’ve cooked corned beef many times on the stove as well as in a crock pot. I have to say this was by far the fastest and easiest way to cook it! The veggies were cooked to perfection- absolutely perfect, the meat came out delicious!! This recipe is what I’ll be using from now on! Thank you😊

I love the look of your corn beef and cabbage dinner and seeing it reminded me of the first time I ate some while in the Air Force. I had never eaten it before going into the military, but immediately fell in love with it and the chefs made corn beef regularly and kept us well fed with it. They usually just served sliced corn beef with something like mashed potatoes and gravy and it was one of my favorite meals. I found it difficult to find any where I live here in Arkansas and while growing up my grandmother and mother never cooked it.

I put onions in with the carrots and potatoes. I place the cabbage on top of that or in a completely separate pot if it won't all fit. This year's meal was great. I am happy to have your instruction for cooking it in the Instant Pot though! Next year I'm cooking it this way! I also like your recommendation for quick release much better. Mary, thanks to this video I FINALLY will start using my pressure cooker, which I did not fully understand how to use - and was scared to use - until NOW! It has sat in my home a long time, because NO VIDEOS I WATCHED explained how it operates in a way that reached me and made me feel I would be safe 😮😢 with it! And sooooo many vids DO NOT explain what "against the grain is" nor make sure their camera work REALLY shows the cuts CLEARLY so one can truly see the grain. In other contexts, "against the grain" can mean PARALLEL TO (as in "leaning against a wall, or against a body as in a hug) -- whereas in this context, it means PERPENDICULAR TO. TY!❤🎉😊😅

Hi Sweet Mary, I have my corned beef in my pressure cooker right now and it smells sooo good that we've decided to have our dinner for lunch - can't wait to try it. Thank you for remembering the small details when you demonstrate your methods and recipes. I inherited a pressure cooker but have been too scared to use it until today. You took all of the guess work out of it. We watched your video together and approached the pressure cooking together and nothing's blown up yet! My MIL would be happy if she could see us using it at last. You and your men stay safe and well. We're watching your part of the US every day it's all a bit scary. I live in Western Australia where we have no active cases now, so it can be done. Much love, Margaret.

Not to mention soups, roast , broth, etc. I haven't made a brisket in a while but now I am craving some. I like the fat and usually keep it on. If there is too much I will take it off as you did,but then fry it up and make some crunchy treats to snack on.

Wow! After watching a dozen video from (unfortunately) clueless wanna-be TV cooks with a KZread channel, this video was EXCELLENT. Mary nailed ever important point about preparing a corned beef as well the tips on the Instapot. This was so well done, I'm anxious to watch her other videos.
