Installing Rubber on Slats to Improve Cow Comfort
Attaching rubber strips to the slated floor behind the head locks, checking crops, drying up cows, and picking up calf feed. Thanks for watching.

Your farm has got to be the ONLY farm with pretty cows. I mean, they are like SUPER clean, as I know their comfort is YOUR top priority. I am always impressed with how humane you treat your cows.
It's obvious once again that you care very much about the welfare and comfort of the cows, and you're not afraid to change something if you think it will improve the situation even more. Nice also to see you providing employment for young people like Ethan.
Thank you for being such a fine representative for young farmers, your generation is our future.
It's good to see that someone cares about the animals comfort. Thank you for opening my fathers eyes for our cows comfort.
It's great that you can really disprove a lot of misconceptions people have about the treatment of animals on farms. You are always looking to find ways to make your animals more comfortable and it's great!
Two things... I'll echo all the comments on how much you take care of your cows and things like this. The second thing I think is really great about your videos is you show the every day things you do. This is not glamorous, scraping, wrestling the mats into place, but is the every day things and I appreciate you talking about them and showing them
As a hoof trimmer I can really appreciate the rubber mats.

Ryan S how often do milk cows need hoof trimming? I would think that would be a big operation for an entire dairy. I’ve been around horse farriers and they have the strongest legs and backs. The hoof trimming trailer is a God sent.

We do a 180 days pregnant maintenance trimming. And anything you find lame. Trimmer comes once a week

Seems like that would add to the cows longevity as a milker too.

Do you see hoof trimming as a dying art?
Hello 👋 good to see your dad back on screen, he look very well but lose little weight. The young man who wear red T-Shirt just like you working very hard👍
Good morning Eric, glad to get a video from you today. Your care for the cows is amazing. I can't imagine the stress having to depend on the rain that comes when it feels like it. Was nice to meet one of your employees. Thanks for the great as usual video.
I am not sure there is a farmer out there that takes better care of cows than you do. Thanks for the video.
I love the amount of work you put into cow comfort and happines
Good for you putting the rubber down. No wonder the girls love you. Your crops are looking great. Good vid. Peace.
Work at a Zoo maintenance dept for 20 years now, those tapcons will get dissimilar electrochemical oxidation with urine and manure 24/7, they turn into spikes when they corrode, hoof nightmare. Get yourself a McMaster-Carr catalog and go with a stainless fastner, more expensive up front, but man those tapcons are horrible when they corrode, turn into jagged shanks.
That was cute how the cows inspected the new rubber lining. I think I heard them say THANK YOU ERIC GREATLY APPRECIATED. 😂. The crops are just beautiful!! So peaceful to look out over crops growing!😊
Crops look really good! It's all about cow comfort! The better life they have, the better they will produce for you.
I’ve really enjoyed watching your videos. Good to see the care y’all have for the cows, and how we’ll keap the farm is! Nice to see how well you and your dad work together! I’ve also enjoyed seeing the scriptures you post at the end sometimes! That’s what we need to see considering things that are going on now day! God Bless you and your family!!
The floors look so much better once cleaned (scarped ) seems like they would be more comfortable for cows too if they weren’t walking on the nasty floors. Glad to see a farmers taking really good care of his animals
A chunk of money is right, but in the long run it will pay off. One way or another doing what you can, trying new things to improve cow comfort, great job. I don't think it's ever a mistake to work on improving production (cow comfort), it might not always help but it's absolutely worth trying. In such a competitive business the ones who don't invest in improving margins eventually just end up on the wrong side of things because their competition did. That's probably what's helped keep you guys going for 10 generations. Businesses that don't change and adapt quickly can get left behind. Great vid!
Great awesome video Eric, your hired hand is really working out good , great improvement to cows hooves

Tom Pemberton mentioned you in one of his videos. Its great to see young people staying on the farm.
The rubber strips at the feed barriers are a really good idea. The cows seem to love standing on the rubber strips and look comfy for there feet.
Always love your videos
You and dairy farming belong together.... An example for all farmers to go by.
I love your vids u and sas duck kid inspired me to be a farmer one of my dream is to come to your farm keep up the good work
Great vid. Please stay safe and Merry Christmas from Cape Cod.
I work for a large global rubber company that sells conveyor belts and I watch your videos on a regular basis. When your new rubber mats start to wear out you should contact a mine or quarry to see if they will give you old conveyor belts that could be used as replacement mats. Since rubber can't be recycled these companies typically look for ways to repurpose old conveyor belts vs paying to have them put in a landfill. You would want to find a company who mines heavier ore or rock because they will buy/use thick conveyors in their operations.
Anything to make to cows happy! Nice work.
Hi Ethan!👋👋👋
I love how the cows are checking it out and looking at it to. Give. There approval!,!! Lololol Awww I was sad we didn't get to watch you feed the cows!
Hands down best agriculture channel on youtube!!🌱🥛
@ 7:25 , that made me laugh!! You were inspecting the very straight and well placed rubber mats....and that cow lowered its head and peeked at you underneath another cow. Pretty funny!!
I love binge watching your videos!
Love the vids
Love your vids
Always an impressive operation. And that GMC truck is sweet...
❤️ your videos Not exactly sure how your videos were suggested a while back but glad they were!! & subscribed ! God Bless 🙏🤗 much love from Fort Worth Texas !!!
Crop all looking good
Comfy/cozy cows give good milk. Mats looks good.
Good video....matts look comfy
Skeptic... driling into the concrete giving room for moisture to get into the steel inside the concrete beams can make them short lived. Plus the rubber take away a lot of the openings... but I follow you with great interest👍. Hope it will be good.
beautiful fields !! thumbs up from me for the great job
Hi bro I am watching your videos on last 2 months, I appreciate to do work with more interested in your young age ,well done bro, I am watching you 👍
I love your videos
Good plan. It will pay for itself over time and is great for feet. 👍
You seem like a great dude. Also respectful and caring of the animals which half the farmers you meet aren’t. Keep up your great work. Cows are majestic creatures there not as dumbs as we all think!

Salmon Hunter I would say it’s a very educated statement as many farm animals are hit and kicked. It makes me laugh that you think everyone is just a good farmer like this guy. This guy actually cares
working hard there buddy. hope you enjoy some of the spoils of your labor.
Ethan puttin in work!
Jesteś mistrzem Tomek farmer POLAND Greetings 🇵🇱

Very passionate work...
At 2:47, yep, dear ol’ #482! She appeared to be supervising the team of E & E working most diligently on farm floor modifications. That padding was a great idea; one can see the cows checking it out. Beautiful fields of corn and soy beans.
7:25 moments like this are why I come by here. Thanks!

Eric, Blessings to YALL and Thank You for Your Hard Work on the Farm as well as Videos and Editing‼️ Hope Wife and Daughter are Well⁉️ How is Dad’s shoulder⁉️ I’m sure you use the drone to check crops when you have more time. 30 minute lunch to check crops? Where was the Dew/Chocolate Milk and sandwich to go along with the BREAK⁉️ Important to stop everything while you take nourishment- speaking as a heart bypass and other body part failures person- I know it is hard to stop but your body, Wife & Daughter need you to rest a bit during those 12/14 hour days‼️ Now, I have another new adventure hitting me- The China Virus‼️ 1st 5 days have been rough- not letting up but we’ll see how it goes next week⁉️ I educated one of the trolls about his sarcasm concerning cattle getting out in pasture‼️ I suggested he check with his County Extension Office and County Extension Agent for basic Farm/cattle learning and best practices‼️ LOVE FOR YALL‼️ 🇺🇸AMERICAN FARMERS 🇺🇸 🇺🇸AMERICAN HEROES 🇺🇸 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 ❤️🤍💙
It's good to see the younger persons working.
You should do an update video on the truck! I remember the video when you all went and looked at it!
Just in case you didn’t know you can get rubber mats with slits in it for the slats we have them and we think they are a good job. 👍
Man your corn is looking a lot better than over here in BC
I really enjoy all of your videos, I would however recommended that you use 316 stainless steel tap cons I think you’ll find out those will rust out very quickly. Keep up the good work and God bless
