Even though you posted this several years ago, it is still a huge help to us who are having troubles with BIOS (in my case, on a LattePanda Alpha - the flash to the new BIOS went badly and I bricked the device). My biggest issue was getting the menu system in my CH341A in English - and YOU solved it!! Many thanks - was pulling my hair out. cheers

This device has 2 operation modes. The mode selection is based on the jumper placement. Jumper pin 1 & pin 2 -> programming mode. As you well described. Jumper pin 2 & pin 3 -> serial TTL mode. We can directly connect pin TXD, RXD, and pin GND (3 wires) to a serial port of another device.

    1. Position of the Tab: It is written on the circuit board. 1-2 for programming and 2-3 for TTL. Unfortunately written in Chinese 2. The Up or Down connection: It is also shown in the circuit board. Top is for 25 and down is for 24. For most bios, it is 25 chip and one must select 25 SPI Flash in the software.

On the opposite side of chip locking lever there is a drawing on PCB how the memory chip should be installed :) . If you'd rotate the socket by 180deg so the locking lever would be pointing at usb connector then the image in first software would be right too. Thanks for info about the jumper 👍 This is just my guessing: The software was designed probably for hardware that have the socket rotated (maybe predecessor of EZ2019 (ezp?) or 2010), but when "cloners" show up and copied the hardware they rotated the socket how it's now (because it's more user friendly, and they can't copy 1=1 board layout either because: maybe of legal implications or the board was just too big and cost too much ;) ) but they still used the original software ...

I have problems with the software packages. The driver seems to install OK (with driver--24CXX25Xx.exe), but when starting ch341a.exe (v1.18), I first get 'Access violation at address 00000000..." and then I see the software interface, it always says Connected, with or without controller. It doesn't find any chip and the Exit button again show the Access violation error. Not able to exit. Ihave this on Win7 and Win10. Also my antivirus Norton erased a file from the 64b package because it contains a virus (WS.Reputation.1)! In files usbiox.dll and drvsetup64.exe

Great job m8. Thanks for info and for the files provided. Very helpful. Thanks again. One thing i've noticed is that the soldering joints of this device is purely made. I will use my soldering iron and resolder the bad connections to make proper and acceptable soldering joints just in case so it can be more reliable to the task.

Thank you for the tutorial. I ordered one too. Do you know if it can read/write Atmel 25128an chips? I couldn't find any info on that online.

Greetings UltraNSC! First of all thank you for your time and effort in making this video, really appreciated. May i ask you sir, does this USB programmer has the pins where i can solder or use bios chips of LGA 2011v3 x99 motherboards like for example MSI X99A Gaming 7 USB 3.1 ? Because i see in the video you where using a bigger bios chip. Thank you very much

Thanks for this, ive been messing with this programmer board for a while and even though my chip is detected from motherboard because i'm using the clip. I don't see any green light flashing when it's flashing the firmware nor reading.. It's just another red light that turns on.
