I have been watching all of your videos and have been so impressed with your attention to detail. Your work on the 3 point lift videos is helping me rebuild my 861 . I am going to place an order tomorrow with mcmaster carr for the bushings that you recommended. I also have a 61 40303 with power sterring. One helpful tip i can give you is to brase a female pipe and pipe plug to the power sterring cap.. it makes checking the fluid level so much easier. Please keep up the good work, you have been so helpful to me.

Say brother ? Wondering if you could help me out ! I've got a 1958 Ford with the 172 diesel engine and I can't get it to start , even with ether , can you lead me in the right direction ?

If it doesn't start with ether you either have no air or no compression. Try taking the air intake off and see if that helps. If not try and listen for compression since you'd have to remove the injector the see if it has compression vs just a spark plug. Also make sure valves are working.

Not sure if it called empire blue or not. It's the blue from CNH dealers.

@ericramirez3199 being that you changed the starter and solenoid that's where I'd start looking first. Did you put new cables on? How is the battery itself? Make sure all your connections are clean and tight. Also if you have a volt meter, see what voltages you have at the starter when cranking. Usually if the engine spins a couple times then stops you have an electrical issue to the starter or weak battery. You're dropping too much voltage somewhere. Since you have an alternator I'm assuming it's a 12v system so you should see 12v to the starter terminal when cranking. If not, start checking backwards to see where you are loosing 12v. You can check this 2 ways, 1 by checking available voltage, red test lead on wires, black test lead on ground, or 2, voltage dropping wires, test leads at both ends of wires/components. Voltage drop method should show less than 0.1v across everything except starter to ground. That should be 12v. Available voltage should show 12v all the way to the starter when cranking.
