Installing a Pertronix Ignitor 3 Ignition

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

this is not a tutorial for people to learn from. I made many mistakes in this video but did it more for a personal documentation. So I had finally got my package from summit and $318 later I was not disappointed. This was the smartest decision ive made in a long time in terms of performance. you get an msd style ignition with no box and even a rev limiter! Couldnt be anymore happy with the results thank you pertronix.

    Love the videos man. My first truck was a 72 high boy, and I sold that and bought a 78 Bronco, then traded that for my 73 f250 and I daily drive my 69 f250 for a little while there. But I love the truck man, I've gone through too many to build anything so I'm finally just gonna keep my 73 and build it, I've got a 347 stroker I can put in it (freshly built) or keep the 390 and build it. But love the truck man for sure

    I came back to this video because im looking at buying a Pertronix Ignitor and a FLame Thrower coil for my new car, a 1966 Buick Electra 225. I sold the Mercury back in October and I bought the Buick literally the day after. What are the benefits youve noticed with the electronic ignition? Any mpg improvement?

    I found this channel today because I'm looking at a 1988-1991 F-250 2wd regular cab. I am pretty sure it has the EFI 351 in it. Sadly it's an auto though. I love your trucks. I would love to own one like any of them but we really don't have many solid trucks left in the northeast over 10-15 years old.

    Hey, Im a newbie to older mechanics. ive got a question. The 390 in my '64 Mercury seems to have "blow-by" but Im not too sure its blow-by. When its running, white "smoke" comes out of the oil filler neck. (The stock valve covers are still on it and they dont have breathers.) Do you think installing breathers on both sides will help?

  • @Thecraig909

    @Thecraig909

    7 жыл бұрын

    Southern Mechanics yes big time. If it doesn't have any room for it to breathe the pressure will blow the gasket causing a leak so I would either install the stock PCV valve on stock covers or do what I have and put in filters

  • @RANDOMMekhaniks

    @RANDOMMekhaniks

    well im not so experienced in inline motors but because this is different than regular points, if pertronixs or some other company makes this product to fit that motor i would. the aftermarket has such a smooth power band and incredible throttle response, better mpg, etc..

  • @johnathanwilliams7805

    thecraig909 what do you mean different than regular points? I'm not sure what points are

  • @Thecraig909

    @Thecraig909

    7 жыл бұрын

    Johnathan Williams it's basically the way the spark is delivered to each cylinder. With the pertronix is skips the whole mechanical system how the spark is delivered through the "points" and bypasses it with its own electronic system. Hope that kinda makes sense
