    I would have changed all the visible bolts with coated ones. New battery cables get 1 wire alternator move the battery behind seat or in center console or a small racing battery under dash make it look clean paint black behind the fenders behind the bumpers and valance great job

    Yup, makes a world of difference taking it apart like that. It kills me when I go to car shows and the people have a killer paint job on the outside and rattle can the engine bay while it's still together. Looks good!!

    thecraig909 i know what you are saying about your grille. the po of my truck a 67 Ford f-100. he used a tree or a fence post to help stop the truck. now the bumper being bent no big deal 67 / 72 bumpers are all the same. the grille well that,s a one year only grille. i got really lucky on evil bay some one had one and they only wanted $175.00 and free shipping. i have seen the steel ones for a 67 on there for $300.00+ and know free shipping. my cousin told me of a tip he used when he painted the engine bay on his 67 Cougar. take the plastic tip from a WD-40 can that has never had WD-40 thru it. you can put it on the spray nozzle of your spry can .and you can get into the hard to reach spots. i watch your videos all the way thru. keep up the good work. you give me ideas for my truck.also from what i hear. the windshields from 1967 thru 1979 are all the same. the trim around the glass is diff. for the diff. years.

    I'm doing this on a 67 for a guy by myself. I pulled the engine and transmission out, resealed the pan, intake and valve covers. I painted the whole engine old ford blue with black accents. Adding a serpentine system from CVF and converting it to power steering. And a few other things. This whole job started as valve cover and intake gaskets! 🤣

    Those wiring clips, instead of going out and buying new ones, if they're available, take a trip to your local junk yard and have a good look around and you'll find that lots of newer vehicles use pretty much exactly the same clips. If you're honest you'll probably find the junk yard won't charge you for them, or you can just stick them in your pocket though the yard may get the hump with you if they have you turn out your pockets. The same thing goes with fuses, depending on what type the vehicle uses as a lot of modern vehicles use blade or mini blade fuses. Some people say that used fuses are a risk but as long as you take them from something with a dry and uncorroded fuse box you'll probably be fine. It's a good way of accumulating a stash of them as you can usually guarantee that when you really need one you won't have the correct rating on the shelf so you'll have to go and get one, maybe risking getting pulled by the police because something important isn't working...

  • @gosportjamie

    @gosportjamie

    +Thecraig909 I definitely would then, take them for whatever you can get. Mind you, I wouldn't use a yard like that again anyway, I'd find a better one, but that's not so easy in the US when the next nearest ones could be miles away...

    That’s the alternator going bad. For everyone’s information, when you add electric load and your truck starts to act funky measure the battery while running. It should be between 13.5 and 14.2 vdc due to charging. If it’s lower or higher your alternator is going bad.
