    Hi I also have an X. A 6 seater. Does this allow the passenger seat to have full leg room. The pippa causes us to sit way up in the passenger. Looking for an alternative. Thank you!!

    Hi! Not quite. The shoulder of the front seat is about even with the opening of the wing doors. I’m 5’6” with fairly long legs and my heels are about 4” away from the bottom of the footwell. The Rava is better than most carseats for front seat legroom.

    Does the Nuna Rava fit well in the rear facing position in the middle seat of the second row of the 7 seater Model X?

    Hi. I haven't had a chance to install one in that position yet, but it should. The Rava is a compact seat that installs well in many vehicles and I haven't heard of many installation issues with the center seating position of the 7 seater Model X.

    Hi Lucy. Not really. A skinny kid can with careful moving if the front seat forward, then moving the middle seat forward until it barely touches the front seat (any more than that and it will change the recline angle).

    2 questions 1. Are you able to close and latch the cup holder that the seatbelt feeds through? 2. Is there any way to get the shoulder part of the seatbelt to get out of the way once installed? I find it annoying and in the way :(

  • @CarSeatSite

    @CarSeatSite

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Emily. You can't latch the cup holder, but you can remove it by pulling up on it. You have to be sure not to lose it then, though, lol! I never found it annoying when I drove with it hanging down, but I know situations vary. As for the shoulder belt, it is what it is, unfortunately. It's all in how the engineers designed the vehicle.

    I realize this video is a few months old now, but I have a question. Does the Rava allow for angle adjustments(Pool noodle, rolled towels, etc..)? Even in the most reclined position, it still looks to be way too upright to safely be used for a newborn, and this vehicle seat looks flatter than mine.

  • @CarSeatSite

    @CarSeatSite

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi! The Rava does not allow for noodles or tightly rolled towels. Basically, you recline the seat to the most recline the base allows, set it on the vehicle seat, and it is what it is. The padding on the inside does add about another 17° extra positioning. If it's still not enough, Nuna feels a rear-facing only infant seat would suit the child better in the beginning.

    @@CarSeatSite yeah, thank you!! I was really hoping to avoid purchasing an infant only seat, and just go to convertible from newborn, but it seems my car won't allow for it. 😒 The seats are too deep, and not enough room behind the front seats for the proper recline. 😔

    Hello, I was wondering why you used the seat belt over the latch system?

  • @CarSeatSite

    @CarSeatSite

    Жыл бұрын

    @David Garcia I used the seat belt for a couple of reasons. First, with a belt tensioner, like the RAVA has, the seat belt is easier to make fine adjustments in tension (loosening/tightening) than the LATCH belt is. Second, lower LATCH anchors aren't always available in every seating position so even though they are available in this seat, I wanted to show what is perceived to be a more difficult installation. LATCH is introduced oftentimes to new parents as being safer, but it's only safer if it results in a tighter (proper) installation.

    @@CarSeatSite so it is recommend to use seat belt over latch? Or would both be a thing?

  • @CarSeatSite

    @CarSeatSite

    Жыл бұрын

    @@DavidGarciajrtx With carseats that have belt tensioners, it's recommended to install with the seat belt. However, there are times when LATCH is preferred, such as when the carseat is installed on a vehicle seat that tilts forward for easy access to the 3rd row of an SUV (carseat-friendly tilt) or when a sibling/other family member consistently unbuckles the belt. Ultimately, what matters most is the tightest installation using either method, but not both. The only time both methods are allowed so far are on carseats that have separate belt paths for LATCH and the seat belt, e.g., rigid LATCH, which is mechanically attached to the carseat instead of attached by a strap. Nuna's infant seats, the Clek Liing, and the Clek Foonf in forward-facing mode are the only seats that have rigid LATCH.

    This is incorrect. You check if it wobbles holding by the upper part of the car seat, not near the cup holders. It looks like the car seat still had some slack. You need to press it down more and wobble more before you close the tension door. Also lock the seatbelt before you close the tension door. It’s in the manual

  • @CarSeatSite

    @CarSeatSite

    3 жыл бұрын

    Sorry, Agnie, that's wrong. You check at the belt path-where the seat belt or LATCH belt goes through the carseat. It's right in the manual. The farther away from the belt path you get, the more the carseat will move. There's nothing holding the carseat to the vehicle at the upper part/head part of the carseat, so it will move more. Carseats can move up to 1" and still be considered safely installed. I prefer to have them installed tighter than that, but some vehicle/carseat combos I've had to settle for it and call it a day. Also, please re-watch the video. At 8:30, I lock the seat belt and at 8:48, I close the True Tension Door.
