I suggested this back in the 70's. 63-66, Chevy short bed trucks were getting hard to find. My friend had a 65 Chevy, long bed. I said lets cut it down! Most people told me it could't be done. LOL!!

Awesome video guys! Love the fact that this is easy to perform this conversion in an average driveway. Someday I'll get to this point in my '68 C10.

The kit is great easy to install short box is the way to go

When you took your drive shaft in you just told them 12” off the front? Did you have to measure to confirm or did you just go with the 12”?

i like how when it's done you just have a repro bed on it like "BAM we done" lol jokes aside do you sell a template to cut down longbed BEDS as well ?

The current market seems to be supporting the value of converted shortbeds just like originals. In some cases where a longbed had exceptional patina and the bedsides were shortened professionally to retain the patina, we've seen those trucks be seemingly MORE valuable than an original shorty.

Did you cut the actual bed to fit when you shortened the frame? Where is that video to do that?

We don't make a kit, and we're not aware of anyone who does. As far as if we recommend it... we're all about making it what you want it to be. So if a short truck is what you want, then cut away!

@@gboots9009 The frame on the 67-72 gets cut where the transfer case mounts. It makes it so our C Channel can't be inserted to support the frame.

Yes and No. the cab mounts would need to be swapped and the front frame horns (the front of the frame) that attach to the bumper would need to be cut off and swapped or else you cant attach a bumper. there may be some other small differences as well, but those are the main two that come to mind quickly. We wouldn't recommend it, you're better off finding a 67-72 frame.

The best thing about our kit is that the frame WILL be straight. We've done this project in many situations including a few DIY garages and it's very easy and always comes out right. We suggest you watch our instructional video for this kit, very easy to follow

We're not aware of any installers in AZ, but this is really a job you could do at home if you wanted.

I would prefer a untouched eight foot bed . Cutting them devalue them .

I disagree. They are already worth significantly less than a short bed. There were way way more long beds than shorts produced. Cutting them down properly will only increase the value. UNLESS it’s a low mile mint condition numbers matching barn find.... then maybe find a different one to cut down.

You can't get it legal like this like get a sticker can I'd like to drive my 72 k10
