Inspector Fisi - Part 1

In the concrete jungle, the predator makes all the rules. Meet Inspector Fisi, the quintessential Kenyan traffic officer who patrols Kenyan roads like a colossus, demanding bribes from public transport crews eager to do anything to make an extra shilling in the chaos that can be the traffic situation in Nairobi, where 1 in every 4 of the matatus in the country operate, and elsewhere.

Great work, Namu. And great courage too. The story of corrupt police has been told so many times that it has become part of our common folklore. My concern, however, is whether any content that you capture can be adduced in court to enable prosecution of these individuals (as most of it is captured in secret and the witnesses may not be willing to appear) or this will just be another chapter in famous Kenyan police tales. Godspeed.

Great job. Keep at it. They are still out there. Just a few days ago, I saw one taking a bribe at the Ring Rd Kilimani - Ngong Road intersection. We should never stop doing our part in our pursuit to live right and leave a better world for our children.

Good work John I had a video of a cop demanding a bribe from me last year but I deleted it. Next time I will share videos with you, also ask members of the public to buy dashcams and lobby MPs to pass laws allowing mandatory dash cams in PSV vehicles, they will be afraid to accept bribes while openly being recorded

great job Allan the Matatu industry has a workers union called PUTON which stands for Public Transport Operators Union which has been raising the problems of the industry workers, many times the view of the industry's workers is not taken to account when solving the many problems on or roads. Atleast Allan you spoke to one of us

@Africa Uncensored and John Allan Namu, you should also do a documentary of how these touts take advantage of innocent passengers. As much as we are focusin on the so called 'Fisi Askaris', them touts kwanza are so ruthless and very arrogant. Especially that at 6:17 I have a personal load of experiences with that fella, very very ruthless!!

we here in kenya are tired of the traffic police taking bribes and the kanjo's of nairobi. im a victim. i have been working in the matatu industry for years.. the kanjo's also play a veery big role. first they arrest any conductor they see and they dont take you anywhere near the stations unless you dont want to pay the bribe. they harrass you. this is not just corruption. i see this as roberry with violence

Kenya needs to pay teachers and police officers better. This issue is never addressed. These are careers that should be coveted by many not as a last result of joblessness but because it is a well paying, great benefit job. Similar to the u.s. just my thoughts.
