Given your Nightwish history, I'm totally surprised that you didn't know about Johanna Kurkela before. So you ABSOLUTELY have to listen to AURI, Tuomas Holopainen's side project he did with her and Troy Donockley. It's not metal but more like a folky, dark pop sound, but it's absolutely beautiful and probably one of the main reasons they used vocal harmonies on Human :II: Nature the way they did (only of course with Floor as the female voice). If nothing else, check out their song "Desert Flower", an otherworldly beautiful ballad that also showcases what a great vocalist Troy is.

First time I've heard this song. Wow, guys. Holy hell. There is genius at work here. I've said that smooth jazz makes me want to gnaw my own arms off, but metal brings me joy and peace, and this is a great example of why. The talent and creativity... and the life we get especially from melodic death and doom metal puts generic mass marketed commercial dreck of all kinds to shame, and I pity those missing out.

This song is trully work of art... But why you didn't mentioned that mindblowing chorus of Jani Liimatainen at the final phase of the song? Every time I listening to it I wait that 6th minute and "fly away" 😌 God...How PERFECT this song is...

Epic song from an outstanding album

This song quickly became one of my favorites, flawless in every way. The vocals from Johanna are the perfect touch to the song... beautiful.

Is anybody else listening to this while drumming with their chest muscles? Perhaps it's just something I do... This song is absolutely incredible! Multiple goosebumps. This song does to you what it feels like when you're somewhat tired and your better half comes and gives you a good back scratch, or what it's like to to cozy up by the fireplace in the middle of winter all huddled up in a soft fleece blanket, while listening to some Insomnium blastbeat drums, as you do. :) This is hands down song of the year as far as I'm concerned.

It's 3rd song on the album. White christ comes before and Lillian is right after. Another great song love the female vocals and the harmony between Jani and markus. Markus outdid himself on this album. It's mix between prog mdm and black metal in some parts.

I blame Epica for getting me into Insomnium (The Miner is soooooo good!), and I freaking love this song. Watching this reaction gave me chills. So long story short...you convinced me to download the album!

You won’t regret it

I liked Insomnium,... and post-covid I needed to get out to a show... I caught them live in Baltimore this year, and I can't believe that I hadn't gone further down the rabbit hole. I've been hooked ever since, and they absolutely killed it live, now they are a love. Great to catch up with you guys again (Saor a few years ago), subbed.

Outstanding song.

I was so surprised to see Johanna featured on an Insomium track, yet it makes perfect sense, two of my favourites in one. I highly recommend Auri's music even though it's not metal.

Beautiful, just beautiful. I eagerly await the arrival of the album (with tee and patches) Great reaction guys although I didn't expect to hear Kylie Minogue mentioned - the Aussie girl who was responsible for many an Aussie teen boy's sleepless nights circa 1980. Cheers guys.

Pedro, for "Godforsaken's" sake, listen to your clever son Antonio when he wants to speak. He has very good insights everytime. He tried for about four times to convey the idea that the place where this great song should have been on the album, was right at the end. But you interrupted him every time. So sad I don't have emoticons to express myself better :-)) Anyway, he was totally right ! By the way, you've reviewed Anno 1696 without the three extra tracks on CD2...which is a big miss, those three epic songs are even better that some on the CD1, so it would be nice to do a complete review, unless you're too mad at me after this comment. :-))

Wasnt Auri inspired by some fantasy book? Patrick Rothfuss or something. Tuomas Holopainen had A solo project with Johanna as A singer that was inspired by scrooge. Then theres Also Altamullan road which is Johannas other project.
