'The Unknowing' recommendation strongly seconded. It's pretty unique song in my books. Seen these guys live through the years in small clubs and on festival stages. Damn I love them. The energy is unreal. Vanhala, though, is a living legend.

"is this band, like, another legendary melodeath band from, like, finland, that i just was not aware of?" yes. yes, they are. especially surprising that you never heard of them since, as you noticed, they share a guitarist with insomnium, who you know already. and yeah, they have some awesome uplifting sounding harmonics in their music. great band.

As far as recommendations go: "Skyline" is I think their most Well known song. I kinda hate that song though because the lyrics just don't make any sense. Like, at all. I'd recommend "New Dynamic" which is also super popular. I was supposed to see them in a few months with Insomnium but seems like that's not gonna happen. But being a melo death nerd, those two in one night is kind of a bucketlist thing for me.

Omnium Gatherum were the last band I saw before we got locked down for COVID down here in Sydney Australia. Easily one of the best live bands I've seen. I had a really nice moment when Markus went out of his way to give me a fist bump after the gig! I missed his first fist bump as we couldn't reach but he stepped down stage to so we can :) Oh the perils of being a short guy myself... The melodeath scene in Sydney isn't as big as other metal subgenres so it was awesome to see the band appreciating their fans as we do for them going out of their way to tour down here. Also loving your reactions Tank. You seem like a fun bloke to hang for gigs with all your energy!

So as you pointed out, Markus is in the band, as well as Insomnium. Quite often you will find fans calling the pair Insomnium Gatherum, as they tour together quite a bit (go figure). I got to see Omnium Gatherum a few years back with an absolutely incredible lineup of Omnium, Moonspell, Dark Tranquility, and Amorphis. So to see you doing your thing on Omnium makes me so happy, and Finland definitely does not have the ability to do anything wrong in metal. As for a previous song? Gods Go First and the whole Burning Cold album. Great video as always, bud!

The great thing about discovering Omnium Gatherum is, they have an extensive discography going way back, full of epic uplifting choruses, and its safe to say they are probably recording a new one as we speak (even though they are doing a tour very soon) they are one of the most hard working metal bands around, and i had the pleasure of meeting them (and a good chat with Markus) after a gig in Sydney 2 years ago, a great bunch of dudes! Even tho i have been familiar with them for a few years now, my first reaction when hearing this song, was very similar to yours 😁

There's a band from Finland called Mors Subita, they are a really overlooked metal band, they are a hidden gem that I'm 200% will be on your playlists. I remember how shocked you were when discovering Orbit Culture, this band may or not be Orbit Culture good, but I swear you will dug it. If you don't react to them it's, I just want to share them with you as a little payback of all the good times I've had with your channel. If you may want to react to them "As humanity weeps" it's a banger and one of their most famous songs. I discovered thanks to A&P Reacts (they love them and are friends with them 😉) . Keep it up your channel always always rocks!!!! 🤘🤘🤘

Well, you’re in for a treat with this band. I’ve been following them since their very first album, and they’re one of my favorites. And, in my opinion, one of the classiest, most inspired melodeath bands out there, and I’m so glad that they are finally getting some recognition. And like you said at some point, the have a very uplifting vibe to them, which is a fresh change from a lot of metal bands. That being said, this particular song left me with a bit of a « meh » aftertaste. It’s a good song, but they can do so much better. It feels a bit « classic Omnium » to me, not as adventurous as what they usually produce. But I think it’s a great way to start, since it’s really representative of their style. Honestly, go ahead and listen to their whole discography, there isn’t a single bad album. I would recommend maybe starting with « The Redshift » album, which is in the middle of their discography, and to me is a perfect sum up of what they can do.

On Insomnium live stream late last year Markus "van Hala" Vanhala played Evh signature guitars, instead his usual Jackson Vs, hence the nickname from fans. Some say hes underrated, but seems like he is starting to get deserved recognition. Anyway, on OG, waiting on a new album from older material on my taste are faster songs like Frontiers and Gods Go First, and as slower almost ballad like The Unknowing with outstanding riff.

The list of epic Wolfheart songs that Tank needs to do is too long lol. Though The Hunt would be a good start.

Ok Tank, it's time. Taken from Seven Spires website: "Seven Spires is an American metal quartet specializing in melancholic tales and tenebrous grandeur. Part bittersweet melodic metal anthems, part apocalyptic melodic death and black metal, and part Romantic Classical poets, they are storytellers who draw from across the traditional spectrum of metal and beyond to weave tragedies of demons, death, love, and the peculiarities of human condition. The band met while studying at the world renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, so we need not spend much time going on about their musical capabilities, but needless to say, the band’s musicianship is in keeping with the metal tradition of tireless work to be the best at your craft. The band’s sophomore album, “Emerald Seas", released in February 2020, was a highly emotional, dark, and theatrical listening experience. The band, as with their debut, collaborated with Sascha Paeth (Avantasia, Kamelot, Epica, etc), who mixed and mastered the album." They were planning a tour last year that got cancelled after the first show with Omnium Gatherum and Insomnium. Thier most recent album (16 songs long and continues the story of the previous 2 albums) just released today.

If you want to see a Jackson Bass, Ancestry Darkest ft Tony Kakko. Ancestry are all endorsed by Jackson says so end of every video of theirs. Its a slow build but when it gets there pure fire especially the drummer.
