In fairness, those people are idiots and this is melodeath, which is a bit different than straight death metal.

Yeah. Deathmetal is a very broad/wide genre. Some people still consider Opeth progressive deathmetal, even though their last album is full hippymode. Deathmetal can go from superbrutal to supermelodic/open/slow/basic almost poppy proportions. It's therefor a very vague term. Genres are tricky. These days a ton of bands that were once 'pure' now play a crossover of multiple styles.

SinisterSkip True in that crossover aspects but they who once rose from swamps of Florida mostly Tampa are still quite true to their old skool stuff. Prime example Obituary, Cannibal corpse. Ok Morbid Angel did some experimenting but the less known Tampa bands are still doing what they do best.

insomnium did it again. you can not compare this unique band with another one. great album. i would say this is the best album of the year. period.

I've heard this album 3 times in the last two weeks, and while it doesn't tread new sonic terratories instead expanding the existing sounds of Melodic / Tech / Death Metal it's still an absolutely awesome album oozing great musicianship, composition, and great production that captures every detail on the album. Epic, Powerful and Majestic are words that don't fully do this album justice. 

Holy shit this album just keeps getting better and better

the section at 1:50 is epic! so is the whole song mind you. this could be a classic release.

Such raw beauty and emotion. This song and the river take me back to In the Halls of Awaiting. Cant get enough of this album been spinning it nonstop since i got it :) Still waiting on my casket edition tho so pumped! Make sure you all preorder or buy the album bands like Insomnium deserve it.

Jake Lawson Bullshit. In Flames haven't been Melodic death metal for many years. Clayman was propably their last serious album, what they've put out ever since was alternative metal shit all over. And even before you could hardly compare their style to the one Insomnium play.

When you buy the Album, If I could make one suggestion to those who have been listening to Revelation / While we sleep, switch the track list to The Primeval Dark, Collapsing Words, Black Heart Rebellion, Revelation, The River, While We Sleep,Lose to Night, Ephemeral While we sleep and Revelation are the first 2 tracks and for me it made the album a little rough to get through since I already heard the 2 songs. This track listing made the album that much better. Amazing overall!

So, so, so sick. This album is an incredible return to form after the disappointing One For Sorrow.

Pretty solid. Not as memorable as the other tracks but still good. Going to be a great album I'm sure

***** I know all about In Flames. I have all their older albums as well as Reroute to Remain and Come Clarity and been to their concerts. Still, none of the old stuff sounds anywhere near this song.

TehBegel Dear Melodic Death Metal Loving Friends; There is some similarity with Songs from "Jester Race" "Dead Eternity" and "December Flower" by In Flames mixes blast beats and accurate lead guitar melodies combined with tremolo picking riffs and classic metal riffs. Insomnium uses the same technique but has a bit more depth then In Flames. Also In Flames tuned guitars to "drop C" while Insomnium tune to "Drop D". Also, American music market is clouded by Bible Thumping Views and Corporate Greed which makes melodic death metal bands a little bit less popular unlike the Scandinavian Market. In a long term the music market is driven by various negative externalities. Finnish bands have a better incentive to practice their art. Opeth/ Katatonia (Swedish bands) concert brought 200-300 people In Oklahoma while Country Music Festival brings 10,000 people. Some kids also wore Insomnium shirt from Dallas concert. Listen to the radio music and its abysmal anti intellectual rhetoric and compare it to Insomnium or "Whoracle" by In Flames. But, USA is also produces The Black Dahlia Murder, As I Lay Dying, Daylight Dies and other respectable melo-death and metal bands. Melodic death metal fans should discuss music peacefully and respectfully. \ Sorry for my long blurb. I type fast.

This song could make a great soundtrack for a space battle scene.

The lyrics seem to be ambiguous as many times. What confuses me a bit is, that Lucifer ("Morning Star" in the text) shall be the one who brings light to path of the seekers of truth. How do you other INSOMNIUM fans interpret the meaning of this song's lyrics?
