As the candles yawned, My world grew darker 'Til barely a detail remained Parchment and smoke Through distant chimes Moths carried by the breeze Her finger to my lips, I am stilled in an instant I sip, and I'm numbed From here the path winds backwards At first I see my entering And then steps in reverse Descent where I had climbed To pass where I had fallen Familiar, all is frayed And yet I cannot abide Beyond my eyelids, I have died Days are merging quickly now, Into years that spiral from my chest They pass but leave no mark Familiar, all is skewed And yet I cannot reflect Beyond my eyelids, I have died Yet I collapse into youth Familiar, all is frayed And yet I cannot abide Beyond my eyelids, I have died I swallow forgotten words To gain what was lost And lose what was gained Until neither is real Behind my head, her hands hold no weight I have reached a beginning, But somehow I do not stop I fall through the first moment To find that there is more As light cascades Through the hole my body has torn Already, it is closing

Dude belakor is notorious for this. Check Neither Shape Nor Shadow. Amazing AMAZING intro with the first verse having this beautiful groove to it. And they only play it the one time! Normally I’d be okay with it if they weren’t doing extraneous shit like playing the lead riff all the way through an entire 4 measures before doing the same thing with a verse over the top… it’s like they’re just trying to hit that 8 minute mark all the time lol… Love belakor but these are just my critiques

I feel like poetry always goes over my head. I never in a million years would have understood it that way and I think youre right too. Thank you. I actually can't get into a lot of metal songs and even bands whose music is widely thought to be great, but I find to be lyrically lackluster or banal (for example, a lot of Manowar songs) Luckily, Be'Lakor's lyrics have never been a weak point. My favorite song in that regard from this album is _In Parting,_ I encourage people who haven't paid attention to the lyrics there to go and check it out.

To me it seems like his soul jumped out from his body and enters the one of a baby's. And, while his soul is as "old" as his old self at first, as time passes, he starts to get used to his new body, forgetting all he knew before, all he lived and everything, as his mind is gradually synchronised to the one of a baby's. In the end, the only thing remaining in him from his past self is the glimpse of a memory that he died, and that's all. The last rows of the lyrics implicate that his soul was torn away, he "saw the light", and then "the hole already is closing", which means the soul tranfer has completed, and he is now trapped into the body of a baby. And that baby will probably be raised by the witch, or given to a new family. Sorry for my English, as it's not my main language! Anyway, a great song, and the one I first heard of Bel' akor 😄🤘🏻💖

Only 2:41 minutes in and this genious creation has induced more - in terms of self surmounting (haven't found a better way to translate the beautiful german words "Lebensbewältigung" and "Selbstüberwindung") - than a zen session or a long walk through the woods. Artificial indeed, but yet so close to the 'Conditio humana'.

This song is like an old friend. I think it was one of the first songs I ever heard harsh, screaming vocals(which I learned where called death growls) in and could make out. First found it here at about 13-15 years old, even listened to it while Dad was driving to the beach. Years later I got into Wh40k and found this band's name originated from there. Now even later as a 22yo grown woman I still love this song with my heart and soul, and it brings me to tears. lol

Not weird at all. I am not sure if all metal fans relate, but I was introduced to metal from a place of being a fan of classic rock, prog rock and other sub genres that exist outside the constraint of what I heard as a child. I tested out many of the sub genres and melodic death just resonated with me in a way that other genres don't. Among that, this band is one of my favorites. It is a special kind of calm. It is both empowering and relaxing at the same time. I hear it and all stress just melts away.

Magnificently atmospheric, and the technicality of it is just perfect - not too overly-complicated to sound cheesy, yet continuously conjures a stream of pleasing riffs. Knows exactly when to transition to the next mood. I've been listening to metal for over a decade, and this is one of the most well-written metal songs I've ever heard. Outlive the Hand is similar in that regard. If I hadn't heard any other two songs by Belakor, I would still know they are very talented. You've probably all heard of them, but Opeth has several songs which are similar - long and masterfully-written.

It completely went over my head that was RRH. I see the picture, in a manner of speaking, of the girl taming destructive aggression. It's still dangerous but she's subdued it enough to have the confidence to taunt it. She's begun, that is, the process of making it more human and binding it to her. That's why she can stand so close to something so destructive.

I've listened to this track over 421 times in a row, studied it extensively, ran it through some pretty expensive and exclusive equipment. Both downloaded and bought it, burned it on a CD and in the microwave, hit the surviving CD with a barbecued shrimp to hear the resonance, cross-checked all the data I've managed to gather with a Tibetan monk, living in a pokey mansion west of Karakorum... and here's the conclusion - this is not AC/DC. It's better. And I freaking fell in love with it!

Just a very shallow and tastelessness joke that most people think AC/DC are the only Australian band, worth listening to. Well... the only band they know about anyway. If my senseless gibbering offended you in some way - please, I apologize. :)

For me, with Be'Lakor, it's all or nothing. I'm going to sit here and enjoy every fucking second of this song or I won't even put it on. It's atmospheric, it's epic, it's full of immersion. It's not the normal mood I get from metal... you can't just chow down on a couple riffs and be satisfied - this is symphonic, orchestral... something to behold.

easily in the top 10 metal bands in existence. for me i put them up there with park way drive, the architects, gojira, the list of metal bands that don't sound the same is very small. bmth went the pop music route, which made me sad. they went from metal heads to middle school pop band. i showed people the old bmth they didn't believe it was the same band. till they saw the video.... smdh. but there still bands with integrity like Be'lakor. if only the music industry was ruled by talent instead of band after band capitalizing on sounding like the band before them just slightly different.
