Russia went from being a net exporter of fuel, whose economy relies on those sales, to a net importer of fuel, who has no economy to speak of and who is hemorrhaging money at an unsustainable rate.

In the past 6 months Russia has gained roughly 250 square kilometers. To put this in perspective during Ukraine's "failed" offensive they took 297.7 square kilometers.

Should not forget the jammer killing drones! They are in full development! They are sent upfront other drone attacks and are pilot operated until they get jammed. As from then they switch to jammer killing mode by homing in on the jamming signal and destroy it.

Well the refinery attacks are already having a big impact on on Pootin war revenues, a big drop in income and they are already importing fuel from Belarus and another former Russian states, and now tightening up of oil sanctions are starting to have a big impact, the two together are hurting Russia!!!

@@goenzoy712 Yeah, and Crimea currently gets most all its supplies across that bridge. Military and civilian supplies. They will likely have to start evacuating the civilians. Military supplies will have to risk the drone infested sea, or use highways within missile range which have their own bridges.

Look at a revised version of a V-1 Buzz Bomb 3 smaller pulse on the roof in a tunnel to hide the heat signature one engine can be shut down for slower speed warhead large 2,000 kg equal to WW II blockbuster with disposable jammers and decoys to help at turn points. Wood and plastic for as much as possible for the airframe. Big enough to wreck most ships with one impact same for wrecking oil production drone production etc.

It is like 1942 when the bombing war forced the Wehrmacht to deploy more 8,8 to the homefront than on the frontline. But it might also be a limited success like we are no longer talking about storm shadow successes. If it is a longterm succes I would doubt considering we are now reaching early summer and longer days which means shorter nighttime. And this means that the new presented ultralight aircraft upgraded to a drone fly with max. 200 km / h and therefore you can only do it for targets 1000 km away from the airstrip where they start. Might be a chance if they can start them from russia inside after infiltration. But these slow flying ultralight planes are far too big and too slow target for the russians with a huge amount of time to catch these. Yes, they are cheap, but too slow especially with the payload. You can increase the speed with a much higer altitude and use that surplus for higher marching speed but that comes at the price of higher likelihood to be detected by radar signature even though carbon fibre and other stuff might help.

The advantage of using a large number of long distance drones at the same time is too big to ignore. Striking a few refineries then waiting til they strike a few more gives Russia time to adapt with countermeasures to the attacks and find supplies from elsewhere, like the two refineries in Belarus. Russians are masters at rationing so disabling 30, 50, 60% of capacity won’t stop them and will barely slow them down. The amount of fuel for aircraft, tanks, navy compared to overall use of the nation is relatively low. So if Ukraine strikes a lot of refineries, it doesn’t seem out of place to see 30 refineries being targeted in one night or over 2 or 3 nights (together with air bases, weapons factories). That can lead to much higher fatality counts in a single day. If this happens, Russia will be more tempted to resort to nuclear weapons, which in turn could lead to Ukraine preemptively striking nuclear weapons on the ground. All this requires a massive increase in drone production to make the strikes possible. Tandem to these increases in attacks will need to be calls for peace: Ukraine constantly repeating they want to go back to the 1991 borders and that’s it, to assure any Russian doves. Both Russia and Ukraine often play down the Russian casualty rates for different reasons. So there is a chance a few of these massive drone strikes may have already happened and were not reported. Regardless, it looks like violence will increase before it slows down. Personally my hope is to see Russia’s front line troops run out of fuel (like the original Kyiv offensive) and these troops by the thousands will surrender to Ukraine, with their equipment. In Kherson Russian troops were told to fight to the end despite being starved of ammo, food, fuel before Ukraine made a deal with Moscow to let them walk out of the right bank. Maybe deals diectly with the troops might be possible instead. Gary Noesner had the phrase trickle flow gush.

Then hit the grid. Winter is coming.

This is irrelevant for most countries though because they don't go around invading their neighbors resulting in a bunch of drones being launched at them. Understand?
