The roar of the crowd when Ennis was announced and the camera panned on her in the 110mh heat, and then going on to smash her PB. Unreal!

Great interview. Jess is such an impressive person - driven to be a winner, but incredibly grounded and thoughtful at the same time.

I remember her so well because i lived in uk then. My british colleagues followed the Olympic and were loud about it.

Love the content and quality guests. On the downside, too many advert breaks compared to Steve B. Plus every product advertised changes their lives...a travel agent! Really. A little patronising imo

It would have been very interesting to hear from Jess about what her relationship with her coach was like, especially in light of his subsequent life ban from the sport for sexually inappropriate behaviour. It feels like a missed opportunity.

Wish you wouldn’t begin with what is high performance. It’s just a silly ambiguous question.

I think thats the point, asking high performance athletes what they think is high performance. Everyone has a different answer but with the same principles. But it gives an insight into their worldview and perception of high performance and accomplishments. Her answer was balance, and its the first time I've heard that answer. Tells you what it is to her.

@MillhouseSpeaks at the start is best. Right of the bat you've got a talking point that could go on to different topics you may not have even planned. Gives the interviewee the opportunity to speak their mind and unlock more talking points

She doesn't owe him an apology. At the time he was a convicted sex offender. It is totally reasonable not to want your name associated with one of those.

@@Achtung73 That maybe true but since then things have changed and there's no harm in apologizing when you've demonized someone for something they didn't do. it would look better on her as a person, be a very classy thing to do.
