Being a billionaire’s butler isn’t easy, but you might receive a 6-figure salary for all your hard work. While being a butler doesn’t seem like a glamorous job, it does offer some job perks-- like an opportunity to travel the world, live in a mansion, spend time on luxury yachts and receive some pretty awesome gifts for your service. With the wealth gap growing, more and more of the elite all over the world are looking for full-time service. Programs like the one at the International Butler Academy and the British Butler Institute have skyrocketed in popularity, with more people willing to give life as a butler to the mega-rich a try. But what is it really like living with and doing everything for your boss, no questions asked? Butlers have to do things like clean, organize the household, develop budgets, make appointments and anything else their employer can think of. Do you think you would have the patience?
In addition to a really good salary, some butlers can receive even more money if they have an accent. Especially if they head to China, where the popularity of “Downton Abbey” has made having a butler a trend. Butlers also have pretty good job security-- even if they get fired, most find a new job within two weeks. Wanna find out exactly what it’s like to be a butler for the rich? Then click play and let’s explore the career and lifestyle perks-- or downsides-- that come with serving the rich.

I researched butler positions in a job search to see how much someone will pay and the job requirements. In Beverly Hills, one job offered $110-115k a year but 30 different job responsibilities. Basically, if you are willing to give up having a life outside of your job, then it would be perfect for you. The posting was very demanding and made a point to state that the butler should be very familiar in dealing with celebrities and being discreet.

And I would definitely pay more than these peasant rates. $40k a year in the US is garbage. 40K is something you pay to someone that doesn’t do anything remotely important for you. I’m definitely not the norm. Also I would only employ a female for such a position. They are more capable of multitasking then myself or other males.

@@algumacoisaserve9914 In truth it varies by individual but most wealthy people give things away for good quality service . because once you get to a certain point of wealth accumulation the things become less important than what experience you have out of life . It's easier to get money form a rich man than it is to get a minute of his time . As a butler your the go to person who is running his household . You get a lot of responsibility placed on your shoulders. But also a lot of opportunity to impress and show your value to your boss. Butlers are often not a one time job when employed by the higher end of society. It can be a long and well paid career with a lot of perks . But there are requirements including the ability to keep your mouth shut. Because your clients rather not have their personal life and issues put on display for the press. You don't become a butler hoping for the perks without putting in the work . You become a butler to server your boss to the best of your ability and for a simple paycheck . You do your job well and you will receive the extra perks including gifts from your employer. It's fairly lonely at the top and the wealthy often become close friends with their aids . A butler is one of those positions that is always there day or night for their employer . You maybe asked to assist in any number of daily task. Something as mundane as picking out a tie to go with a suit . Can be a sign form your employer that he trust your judgement . Or picking out a dress for the lady of the house same deal. You do your job well and you get rewarded . You do your job poorly and you don't it's that simple.
