Very much prefer this type of video. Would be great if you did short videos like this throughout the season, from testing the grapes during varasion all the way to blending.

Thanks a lot, gotta check them out next time I'm back in the States. It looks like they source from some of my favorite vineyards in SBC like John Sebastiano and Bien Nacido amongst others. I want to try that Roussanne, I love the grape, esp in SBC! I also didn't realize that Presquile sold some of their fruit, I thought they kept it all in house.

Great barrel tasting, Pat. Amy & Peter have a lot of knowledge but even more passion. Can't wait to try these vintages.

It is actually interesting even without jokes! love the couple’s expertise in wine making. I’d like to try some of their wine in Korea but it would be unlikely :(

Thank you! We used to have distribution in Korea, but have not in a few years. Maybe in the future!

Also, I think the roussanne in barrel tastes of more acid is because it does. The evaporation and topping of barrels concentrates those conpounds that can't evaporate through the barrel.

Lompoc is very close to the ocean and is a cool climate with a very long growing season and unique wines.

I have never had barrel tasting. Surprised to see spitting on the floor. Someone will do the cleaning later maybe?

There’s a drain in the floor that runs the length of wineries. It’s sanitary and the way that wine professionals taste in a tank room.

100 % Rousanne is wrong. I drank a few 100% Rousanne from the Northern Rhone and came to the conclusion that it only should take a back seat in a blend . And that is where it is mostly used. It has a lot of body to the point being almost viscous lacking freshness and not having much aroma besides a hint of apricot.
