Inside of US Navy Warship Ticonderoga-Class Guided Missile Cruiser USS Princeton (CG-59)
Inside of US Navy Warship Ticonderoga-Class Guided Missile Cruiser USS Princeton (CG-59) - USS Princeton (CG-59) is a Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser serving in the United States Navy. Armed with naval guns and anti-air, anti-surface, and anti-submarine missiles, plus other weapons, she is equipped for surface-to-air, surface-to-surface, and anti-submarine warfare. She was previously home to two SH-60B LAMPS Mk III Seahawk helicopters and now carries a pair of the MH-60R version of the Seahawk. This warship is named for the Revolutionary War victories over the British by George Washington in and around the town of Princeton, New Jersey.
Princeton was the first Ticonderoga-class cruiser to carry the upgraded AN/SPY-1B radar system.

Currently serving onboard Princeton. Amazing to see how the ships changed and still kicking. Honor and Glory. HOOYAH⚓️
Never in my wildest dreams would I ever imagine this popping up in my recommendations. As a plankowner and former OS2 on board this ship, watching this video brought back memories of my "shellback" initiation and minefield explosion experience while serving in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Shield/Storm! Crazy!!! Shout out to all my former shipmates!!!!
I love these US Navy videos. It’s incredible how state of the art they are with the technology and firepower that these ships are.

These ships are 30+ years old now. The CG-60 was commissioned in 1989 if memory serves.
THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES STAND WITH YOU AND YOUR AWESOME SHIP WITH PRAYERS TO KEEP YOU ALL SUCCESSFUL AND TO RETURN HOME SAFE AND SOUND...GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERYONE FOR YOU AND WE PRAY A HEDGE OF PROTECTION OVER YOUR SHIP AND DUTIES!!!

my last ship was USS Normandy CG60. Last time I saw the USS Princeton was West-Pac 88-89. You guys rock and you do a wonderful job for the Nimitz Battle Group.
I served about USS Yorktown (CG-48) 95-97. There are days that I miss being aboard, but being retired, I could only be aboard as a guest. Thank You to each and everyone that are abroad protecting our country. God Bless & God Speed.
I served on the USS CAPE ST. GEORGE CG-71 I was an engineman ( A-Gang) was on her 99’ to ‘03 loved that ship
I really like the Ticonderoga Class cruisers. Looks great! Greetings from a retired Sachsen and Bremen Class sailor.

Thank You USS Princeton
I freaking love these machines!
Was on a vacation weekend with my family staying at the Marriott across from Coronado. Watched the USS Princeton sailing out, very impressive ship!
God Bless my brothers and sisters for a great job they are doing 🙏🙏🙏🙏 EN1 Retired U.S.N
I am a plank holder for the USS Valley Forge CG-50! At the time that was really star wars stuff. Best ship I served on by far. It was the only ship I was on that I actually felt safe on if the crap hit the fan. I'm sure serving on that ship helped me make Chief Petty Officer the first time up.

Greetings fellow Valley Forge sailor. I reported onboard in 1989 while there were still a few plankowners left on the crew.
Cool it with the rock n roll, jeeze
I Served on Older Destroyers in the 60's. We were known as Tin-Can Sailor's. It was NOT easy but it made Men out of us Young Seamen. I was a Signalman SM2, Sadly now in my later years I am 100pct disabled from Agent orange cancer. I Proudly Served and would do it again. ❤
Thanks for taking care of Princeton and keeping her ready to do her mission!
Nice topsides, no below decks. I rode CG-11 from Jan 69-Jul 71, considering we started as a converted CA. Sick Bay had 12 HMs and 3 DTs.
Great video shipmates Thank You retired RMC Ex-USS Farragut (DDG-37). I am envious.
My friend Ted Hontz was CO of the Princeton during the Tanker War in the Persian Gulf.
God bless. From Ireland 🇮🇪
The greatest navy, God bless the men and ladies of the military, sail on.
Nice video, didn't they trial a strange looking radar antenna on one of the ticonderoga class?
the last time i seen the USS Princeton she was on the other side of Pier 7 Long Beach..

Lol same here, as I walked off Antietam for the last time.
one hell of a platform
POLISH THOSE BOOTS, SAILOR. Interesting how his rank insignia on his collar matches a O-3 in Army or Marines
I was on USs Horne when commissioned at Mare Island Naval Shipyard..first and last ship to built there since ww2 Stansfield Turner was our captain..got a ticket from Coast Guard for speeding in the bay on the way our to sea trials..LOL
Bad ash love that silhouette of a snake ready to pounce!
I got a little disoriented on this tour. I saw those vertical launch systems and thought “Hey! Those don’t belong on a Tico!” I was on CG-51 USS Thomas S. Gates, the last one with the old launch systems (and the only Tico not named after a battle)
Looks like a well maintained ship!
I love America from🇨🇮
I love these things they are ruggedly handsome, granted they could use some automated Bofors and Oerlikon,
I was on the USS Wainwright CG 28 Charlestown SC love the videos

I thought the title said "inside." Everything was out on the weather decks except a short visit to the bridge. Less than interesting. This is from a 60's era DLG sailor.
Plankowner Princeton. You did slow pans of certain key areas. Amid ships and aft by MT52 . I recognized the significance of that . Areas with severe damage during the minestrike during Desert Storm

Is this the exact one that's on manila bay this january?

I served on CG-60 USS Normandy. The helm/lee helm is way different now. Must have been retrofitted.
I miss battleships. I know they are slow and stuff like that but the Iowa was a beautiful ship

Iowa Class battleships were not slow. Problem with Battleships is they are expensive and don't provide that much offensive punch at long range. they do a lot of damage at shorter ranges but that is not what modern Navy want.

The Iowa class was not slow, could do 30 plus knots. Problem was cost and their limited firepower. They had very limited anti air warfare defenses, no anti submarine ability and carried only 32 tomahawks. The cost and high crew requirements made them disappear
Ooh Danger Area, Ill just step inside real quick cuz I’m a real sailor
Inside? He went inside halfway through, stayed for a minute and went outside again. Title the video correctly.
I 'm a plankowner of the leyte gulf
Sad to see those Ticonderoga’s being decommissioned
Plank owner of the USS Shiloh CG 67.

Lousy sound
CG-58 was better.
Your guns are puny compared to the ones we dad on the "last all gun heavy cruiser" but things move on and I know you are much more capable than we were. USS Newport News (CA-148) The Last all Gun Heavy Cruiser. My time aboard 1968-69-70 Call sign THUNDER flag hoist; November - India - Quebec - Quebec Then onboard the USS Springfield (CLG-7) 71-72 Flag Hoist/Radio Call Sign: November - Whiskey - Delta - Mike "Fair Winds and Following Seas" Brothers/ sisters.
Love the cruiser sir, but you lost me when you said the battleship was obsolete. With readily available modifications and upgrades....not hardly.
outdated

It's a 70's design, but definetly not obsolete.
That was not a tour. Waste of time.
The Chinese type-055 cruiser is far better than this retiring old crap
