    Thanks for posting this. I purchased one of these recently and used it on a few day hikes and was not happy with the hip belt height. After watching this video, I saw your instructions on how to adjust the height and that did the trick, just wished that I had seen this before my trip. The card that came with the pack was useless and even the on-line instructions on Osprey's site (a single PDF file) was hard to follow and I didn't even see this specific adjustment listed. No easy to find instructions on mounting trekking poles as well, so thank you very much for posting this!

    Just read a quite negative review about Talon 26 on the Osprey website . He said when he had Talon 26 heavy loaded, the backsystem become uncomfortable. It's becuase the solid backplate with minimum padding. I'm wondering if this will be the case for the 22, since it uses the same backpanel construction with the 26. I think the new talons back system is using the similar concept with the Skarabs

    Thank you for the video - I've used a Talon 11 as part of my 'fast and light' hiking kit for years and it has been amazing. I was, however, really interested by the attachment of hiking poles that you mentioned at the 13:20 point of the video and the additional video that you mentioned that you would do, as I've always attached my poles using the ice axe loop on the side of the pack and would be interested to see the promised additional video to see how the alternative attachment works. Also, whilst commenting on your latest video, I wonder if Paul could offer some advice on 2 things related questions in relation to softshell trousers? 1) Are there some that he can recommend that don't go all bobbly after they have been washed a couple of times? I love my Ibex trousers as they are super comfortable and stretchy, but they do 'bobble' when they have been washed a handful of times 2) What softshell trousers would you recommend for warmer weather? As I say, I love the stretchy comfort that they provide, but my Gamma LTs and Ibex trousers aren't idea for the warmer days that we get sometimes in July/August. Many thanks and hopefully I will be able to come over and see you in store in the next few months :-)

    Hi Andrew, thanks for your comments on our latest video and I'm happy that you are getting the most out of your Osprey pack. As far as the softshell trousers re concerned, I've been using a pair of Montane Terra Mission Pants for many months, worn almost daily and washed regularly, and there is zero pilling! www.trekitt.co.uk/clothing/trousers-shorts/montane-mens-terra-mission-pant-black__36000 They are however starting to get a bit too warm, so a good lightweight alternative would be the rather gorgeous Arcteryx Sigma FL Pant. www.trekitt.co.uk/clothing/trousers-shorts/arcteryx-mens-sigma-fl-pants-cinder__39063 However, when it really starts to heat up you just can't beat a good pair of shorts! www.trekitt.co.uk/clothing/trousers-shorts/arcteryx-mens-gamma-lt-short-black__39066 I hope that was helpful and thanks for watching. How do you feel when comparing it with Stratos 24? I am talking in terms of comfort and expected enjoyment. The feeling you get the short moment when your sleepy eyes look at both next to each other in the morning, and consider which one to take for your Sunday hike. I am sure that for simple day hikes both are fine, but which one would you leave the house with? :)

  • @trekitt

    @trekitt

    I personally prefer the Stratos as I usually have a fair bit of weight in it (camera stuff) and appreciate the stiffer frame and suspended backpanel. The Talon is the better option for moving fast and light, though, so it's mainly personal preference. For traditional walking/hiking, you can't go wrong with a Stratos. Harry

    Depends a little on your preference for a sprung back or not and also how light you want the pack to be. If you want a slightly more comfortable pack (if you get on with the sprung back) then the Stratos is your answer, but if you want something slightly lighter then a Talon would be better. Then it's just deciding if you need that extra bit of capacity and like the different lid design on the Talon 26.

Interior pocket (top) is not as big as it could be, it curves inwards at the bottom and loses 2in of lateral space rather than being the full width of the bag. The water bottle pockets, when inserted with a bottle, eat up interior space. It is light though.

    Finally purchased an Arcteryx Calvus Cap from you guys after seeing how nice it looks on Paul in most of the Trekkit videos. After wearing it for a few hours, I have to say I'm a little disappointed. The padded front of the cap has a crease in it at one side and overall looks a little miss shaped. Also, I'm not sure if this is by design but the inside of the brim leaves a huge mark on my forehead due to the contact point being a thin line. I haven't had this problem with my other caps.
