Inside Beata Heuman's fairytale Swedish farmhouse | Living with Style

‘I grew up here on the farm. In a way it was relatively isolating so I had to entertain myself, which I think has formed the basis of my creativity,” says the interior and product designer Beata Heuman, 40, speaking at the holiday cottage she has recently finished renovating on her parents’ farm in Landskrona, southern Sweden. “I was always thinking up stories and going into different worlds in my imagination and I think that has affected how I work now.”
Today, her playful use of pattern and whimsical, dreamlike designs have made her a star of the interiors world. You’re probably familiar with her own house in Hammersmith, shared extensively by design lovers on social media or, indeed, one of the homes she has helped create for clients such as the model Adwoa Aboah. Indeed, with 250,000 followers, the Instagram feed of the native Swede is a veritable feast of products she has designed, from club chairs with animal feet to salt pigs that look like monsters, as well as her work on houses big and small.
Now for the first time, Beata is opening the doors of the early 18th-century farmhouse that she has renovated for herself and her family to enjoy.

Yes. It is spot on. I didn’t appreciate til she said it. Just thought it was pretty. But the perspective really changed as soon as she explained the purpose. She’s brilliant.

Don't worry, the damage has been done in terms of the "Rotten" mainstream media. The big tabloids and big TV channels are haemorrhaging money (too big & too expensive). Lets face it,. their journalism and editorial management are prehistoric and run by dinosaur's and no one tune's into these UK TV channels anymore and even greater satisfaction, nobody buys newspapers nor read them online at all... Goodbye mainstream news corporations.
I felt so relaxed and comfortable watching this. Her home is perfect. It’s cozy and so subtle but with tons of character. Wonderful.

This home is amazing-so cozy and colorful. I love her designs and what a sweet family. I had a dollhouse as a child too and it insored my love for design.

I couldn’t tell at first if the last room was a close up of a doll house room or a real room in the house so the effect she was going for with the wallpaper really worked!!

I love her home and how gorgeous are the grounds? So nice to see all the color and patterns used and that they’ve kept so much of the original wood and restored it if they couldn’t. I’m so tired and bored of all the taupe, grey, beige and tan and the ripping out of all the original cabinetry and molding s and the like that you see so often in the US. the house is beautiful. and big. Makes you think about those big strong families who used to live here in the old times. I loved the wallpaper in the little girls' room, absolutely unique. Just one thing which I was a bit surprised to see the bathroom, meaning the toilet and bath in the same room, meanwhile there is a lot of space in the house. I used to have the exact same kitchen table. This model is not as hard to find as she makes it out to be. Plenty of them in Swedish antique shops and flea markets.
