Insert a Word Document into PowerPoint by Chris Menard

If you have a Word document and need to pull it into PowerPoint, you don't have to copy and paste. Simply, Insert the Word document into Powerpoint using Slides from Outline.
The key is to use Heading 1 and Heading 2 in MS Word.
Specific Steps:
1) Create a Word with Heading 1, 2, and 3.
2) Save the Word file.
3) In PowerPoint, click the Home tab, Click New Slide in the Slides group.
4) Click Slides from Outline.
5) Find your Word Document and click OK.
PPT will pull in your headings. It will not pull in your normal text.

Mine too....& it's a university. You'd think they would say go see a librarian, but nope, they said go see Chris on KZread. The word Legend is thrown around to easy to readily. Thank you for the tutorial. But, How do I do that by including a picture?
I have very simple documents. All one font (48 pt). No headings, bullets, etc. It is just very large text - songs and bible verses. I tried making it a special style in word,, then pulling it into powerpoint. It puts each line on a separate slide. How do I get it to populate the slides like it populates the pages in word?

Thank you for this video. I have followed your instructions, but when I try to insert the Word doc, all of the files are greyed out. I'm using Mac, should that make any difference? Thanks so much!

Try this since you are on a Mac. Save the Word doc as Rich Text Formatting. Now try pulling into PowerPoint.

What should I do when I do that but then the power point say it cannot open the document .why is it saying that?

I'm working through Microsoft Teams app. But I have also tried using PowerPoint outside of teams as well.
