I think the thing people don’t understand is that it’s just as hard to genuinely be one of the worst players in the world. Because if the bell curve there’s someone out there who is the top guys just like Magnus Carlson who is, due to cheeses popularity now, would be the worst chess player in history. It’s just as hard and just as impressive to watch. The moves make no sense. They see things non of us could ever see. Lines and variations unlike anything. Just that those are fundamentally shit. I’d still pay to watch it tho

Throwing 6 pawns in the endgame is nothing short of surgical
This ending is like having a loaded gun, against a naked man 50 feet away from you, and then choosing to take out the bullets of your cartridge. And then, choosing to throw every single bullet at him, throwing the cartridge at him and then, after all that, throwing the gun at him as well whilst waiting for him to shoot you. Unfortunately its wrong. The number of ways to place 32 distinguishable objects on 64 squares is 64!/32!. Thats about 10^53 and the total number is almost certainly less than that. The number of atoms in 1 gram of something is around 10^23 and there are 10^27 grams in the earth which adds up to about 10^60 atoms in the earth alone. What im guessing he meant is that theres more possible chess games than atoms in the universe which is certainly correct.
