Finally! The similarities and dissimilarities dissected of these two excellent fragrances. I tried both and prefer Oud for Greatness. Splitting hairs with Haltane being 90% similar to OFG. Excellent review.

I have samples of both of them. Both are amazing! Wore Haltane at a party last friday. Worked out just fine ☺️. I think I will get a bottle of Haltane. And Side Effect. Great video 👍

Wearing Oud For Greatness all day today and just blown away. Lasted really well on the skin from around 9am to 8pm so far. Really great on the dry down. Spicy, warm, masculine, sweet, good projection, but not overpowering. A big winner.

I recommend spraying on the skin, if possible, for comparison videos. I was not a fan of Haltane on paper, but the dry down on skin hits different. Just a suggestion and I really enjoy your channel a lot. Helping gentlemen smell better one spray at a time.

Hi Raymond! I actually wear my fragrances 😊 So I always have experience of a scent both in regards to how it comes across on paper and more so on skin. Some scents I've worn for years before a video (like initios oud for greatness in this comparison), and others for a few weeks (like haltane in this comparison.) For fragrances I might have recently bought, I do try to wear them exclusively for a few days or weeks before doing a video so I know it properly 😊 Thank you for the kind words! On a paper strip I think OfG stays much longer, and somehow the late drydown is somewhat more appealing. What do you think about thw performance?

I own Initio OFG.. and jus picked up a sample of Haltane.. the dry down on Haltane is very OFG. Touch smoother in fact! Very similar!

I just bought Haltane yesterday . What clinched it for me is when I was walking around with multiple fragrances a lady In another perfume store said are you wearing Holtane so I guess it was better on my skin . . In ouds I quite like satin mood by mfk

Warm weather but with low humidity.

Oud for greatness is no doubt more unique but I find haltane more versatile, wearable, masculine and mass appealling.

Oud for Greatness is one of my favorite. I’m pretty sure Haltane will grow on me. PDM always have a way of growing on you. I initially didn’t like Kalan, but know it is one of my favorite.

I got a 10 ml decant of Kalan and I couldn’t stand it the first time I used it. However, I feel it is a very powerful projector so I am experimenting on how many sprays. I think I over sprayed it initially.

OUD for greatness is epic,those that have sniffing issues compares it to disinfectants and stuffs like that but the projection speaks for it.

Hi ROTT! thanks for the video. Your great. So I’ve recently purchased Xerjoff more than words’s, Naxos, PDM Layton, ombre leather, Prada, intense, and my go to has always been Sauvage elixir for 2 years since it came out but I’m looking to add Haltane to my rotation bc I do like oud and I like sweetness. Does Haltane last and project? Also are colonge bottles supposed to sit and settle before using them? When I received my Naxos bottle I opened it up and couldn’t smell a thing after 3-4 sprays. Now I can smell it. Also the fresh batch checker says it’s almost 10 months old. Should I be concerned? Ty. Josh.

@@joshuadramis6559 Just blind bought it because of a 30% discount so haven't tested it yet. People say performance is supposed to be good. Btw, from what I've heard you need to open and spray the fragrance at least once to let air inside for it to start macerating. This supposedly doesn't work with all frags tho, but I did notice my Dior Homme Intense has gotten stronger.

Not a huge fan of Oud, I find that Haltane is more low key with oud and more spicy. I prefer Haltane, but they’re both solid.

Oud for Greatness is a well loved fragrance.

Naxos, hands down! Layton is just meh, overhyped Vicks vapo rub. Don't get the hype on Layton.

PDM.. There is no citrus in Haltane. its divine. Wore it in Thailand smelled amazing in the heat. But at home its autmn winter wear. As i have extensive summer fragrance collection.

Hi! All of this is very subjective so yeah... I think Toy Boy is a cool creation from Moschino and it's a very spicy and peppery floral with a focus on rose. I say cool, because I do find it original and different. It's not however (at least according to me) the easiest to wear and I also feel it's a bit of a mature scent. I do not think it's a "youthful" kind of scent. It's one of the scents I used the least, even though it's a cool scent. Versace Dylan Blue is much easier to wear and smells great. So a BIG + for it being more versatile. But it is most likely a scent that a lot of other people are wearing as well. So.. Go for Toy boy if you love that spicy, peppery floral and want something that most likely not a lot of other people are wearing. Go for Dylan Blue if you want something that is more versatile and something more people are used to. In the end.. Like I always say: you're the one that's going to be wearing it so go with the one you love the most 😊

Even if I am 50 years old, I do prefer the PDM Haltane sweetness. Maybe it's my younger me who is speaking... ;)

Layton is a playboy scent in a white shirt and jeans, but definitely not Haltane. Haltane is in the same group as Oud for Grateness. An elegant scent. No jokes. A serious one.

These are 95% identical no need for both in my opinion they just are to similar both great but after 10 seconds you’ll know it smells very similar

OFG is far more charismatic and simply smells better! Haltane lacks character and feels flat and boring, where OFG is a kaleidoscope of textures and emotions. I bought Haltane as soon as it was released as I'm a PDM fan, but they definitely dropped the ball here.

Initio is ok , haltane is 🔥

Do you think Oud For Greatness is blind buy worthy? I tried Haltane. I liked it but didn't love it. I recently bought Layton Exclusif and love it.

Hi! I think it's so well-blended and even though it's sweet, it's not too deep, cloying or anything like that and the oud is a very smooth, mass appealing and easy to like kind of oud.. So even though it's a sweet oud, it's one I feel is quite versatile in that you can use it to pretty much any occasion. Special occasions, date nights, and going out is a given, but I think most people will like the scent in most situations. Most people who get a whiff of it feels its a fantastic scent.. But like always, it's so subjective. I think it works though. 😊 You tried it? Like it?

OFG is for the man who walks in the room with the best looking woman already eyeing him down! HALTANE is for the man chasing that woman. OFG wears me, I don’t ever attempt to wear it. Alpha Men Only Club 🔥👃

Haltane is nice if you want to smell like a old library with rich wood shelves. Not in a bad way but it's not a scent for a young man.

Now if you want to drive your audience crazy, try comparing Oud for Greatness with an outstanding clone by Lataffa called “Bade’e Al Oud” (aka Oud for Glory). At 1/15th the price of the original it is hard to ignore.

Lattaf is spot on and still last all day

I haven’t tried Haltane but I love Oud for Greatness. There is a lattafa clone called oud for glory and it’s very dang close and only 25-35 bucks. It’s a little more medicinal. There’s also one by Afnan called supremacy in oud and it’s not as close of a clone but very similar scent but sweeter. I prefer Afnan Supremacy 40-45 bucks) in oud and it’s better quality than oud for greatness.

Unfortunately the oud accord used in Oud for Greatness makes the fragrance smell like toilet disinfectant to me. 🤦‍♂️ Luckily I have many other oud fragrances (both using artificial oud accord and using natural oud) that don't have that effect on my nose. I agree with the other commenter that you should do a clone comparison video against Lattafa Oud for Glory. It's not 100% similar, but there is a high level of similarity between the two IMHO.

Go to Fragrantica and look at user reviews of Oud for Greatness and you'll see varying descriptions saying it smells like bug spray, Dettol (disinfectant/antiseptic), Baccarat Rouge 540, Sauvage Elixir, and many other things. What's really ridiculous is your comment.

I got many compliments when I went on holidays. Girls hugging me didn’t want to stop because they love the smell.

Haltane 100%. OFG smells like musty armpits that haven’t been washed in two weeks.

Oud for greatness doesn’t even have oud in it! It has an oud ACCORD! Waste of money. Buy lataffa. At least they use actual oud!!!!
