Can vigorous rubbing and massage or pressing hard can increase cell membrane destructions, hence more Arachidonic acid and more Prostaglandins and increase inflammation and also using counter- irritant substances to the skin. Yes I have seen all these tremendously increase inflammation and pain.

All these things happen inside the cell...not in tissue space... These enzymes dont hang out in tissue space...they are made inside cell upon noxius stimulus then this whole pathway goes inside cell making prostaglandin, leukotrin and lipoxin...

Arachidonic acid is only found in animal products. Therefore reducing their consumption reduces inflammation. Omega 3s, like EPA and linolenic acid (flax seeds), make prostaglandins that reduce inflammation.
