Hey CGB there is a cool card on arena that can untap Selvala every time you cast a spell which works really well since usually you cast big stuff and don’t have enough mana left after. It’s called paradox engine and I think it would go really well in this deck

Unless it’s green idk how you could run it, and if it’s an artifact I don’t see much synergy if all it does is just untap yk, like if it was really good more decks would use it right?

Very fun to see you play this deck. You are sounding more and more like the format fits you, hope you're continuing to enjoy it. A lot of these games make me remember why we (re)started the league, like the game versus Tasha : the early concedes make the story stop, and you lose out on some really fun back and forth games.

Well if you plan on untapping nonland permanents i think there's an artifact you might be interested in

It's so cool that you're more in historic brawl on this channel now! And very entertaining because you are playing magic for a very very long time I think, because you are really good at reading your opponents and give so much information about what you are doing that I can make sometimes only listen to your content and know really exactly what's going on on the board 👌

I had abandoned Selvala for pretty much the reason you said, where she just runs into so many removal-heavy decks and gets nowhere. Still, I might have to give her another go since Staff of Domination wasn't in Arena last time I was playing her. Infinite mana is my kind of fun even if it rarely happens!

Selvala is one of my favorite cards. I like not having to worry about mana

at 11:00 Ranger's Guile on the dinosaur to make it 6 power -> flow 6 mana cast staff of domination untap Selvala then use the final mana to tap Selvala for 6 -> untap staff and untap selvala which will net 1 mana each time and should be a win there

VS Tasha, like you said: if you hadn’t missed that card draw off Vorinclex, and drew a way to untap Selvala, you would’ve had to pay G for the untap, Selvala would tap for GGGGGGG, cast Staff for GGG, pay GGG to untap Selvala, pay G to use Selvala for another GGGGGGG, repeat (also, before even starting this, the one Forest you had untapped now taps for GG)

Legendvd is a true inspiration super creative and explanatory.

The usual issue with weird monogreen combo/control brews like this, is that the opponent usually dies before you actually do the thing

And here I was thinking that Traxos I opened way back when I was starting playing Arena was basically useless.

Use better cards like Sol Ring lol

I have a Sylvaka deck I really like but don't play much for the reason you said in the middle of the video. Sylvala's very good, but that's kinda her problem, if she doesn't go off like crazy (which she definitely can do) then she tends to get victimized by the removal heavy decks she tends to get paired with because of her potential power. It's feast or famine, really. When you see a deck without blue or black you smile because unless they're some kind of board wipe heavy mono white or something weird like then they're gonna lose to your big, green men. I've been thinking of just swapping out Sylvala for Gwenna, she's a strictly worse version of Sylvala so you won't need to change the 99 much if at all and you don't get paired with Bolas and Teferi every game, at least, hopefully.

Control mage? CGB is secretly a big green Timmy lol

At 20:00 or so if you had tapped selvage to make 5 green from Rhonas, you could've untapped her with the elf and made 4 extra mana which would've probably been enough to kill the opponent

Y'know... you don't really have any real way to win with it but you just keep countering everything, returning to hand, drawing cards and then shuffling graveyard just to calmly continue the process? you may add some happy bye-byes (I think they're called Farewells) for safety and more peaceful resolution, just waiting until the opponent concedes... at 11.09 you had the win. Rangers guile the swordtooth, 6 mana each cycle with staff, staff cycle is only 5 mana. 11 times in a row, ulamog, cycle becomes easier. Done deal. Unless the opponent had a 1 mana removal capable of taking care of either creature (highly unlikely) It was a done game. Unless I am not seeing something.

Im curious if played in a edh game would it be possible to play in a game of cedh as well will it be able to handle it and what cards would you add Sevala is my first edh deck and I recently wanted to make it Cedh

Define Cedh? If we're talking real competitive, can it consistently win on turn three or four when gold fishing? And if it can, can it do it through removal or without the commander? Keep in mind the top combo in cedh is a two card combo using 3 mana. Now if you it's a really mean high powered format, yeah I've seen her pop off.

Selvala is definitely a victim of being Reeeahlly Good but not busted. HBrawl really needs more fine grained control over its matchmaking so that Selvala can hit other Really Good creature decks more often without running into the Just Busted decks of Hell Queue as often. Unfortunately the way things end up working the way they're implemented Selvala is either getting run over by the busted decks or running over the lower powered fun decks and there really isn't much inbetween.

21:16 As someone that's played their fair share of cEDH, no, Selvala should be in Hell queue. She may be weaker in Arena, but she's still degenerate, and green is pretty close to keep up with blue and black.

why is everyone leaving the game... are the players in this game only willing to play a game they are about to win? and you just run away from everything that could be a longer battle? i dont get it... is it the same with the paper cards? never played this, but if the players are that unwilling to play im not sure if i would enjoy that game.

Not everyone is like that, but yes, it does get annoying.

Do you ever play any competent opponents, or only scrubby awful people who seem to be playing their 3rd game ever?

I have to say this: castle garebvrig is USELESS, you have to tap 4 other lands AND it to get 6 mana, so you trading 5 mana for 6 witch only comes in handy like 0.1% of the time, any way you look at it your trading 5 mana for 6 and there are other green cards that trade less mana for the same benefit like any mana rock that taps for 2.

Day 5 of asking for a heart :) I had a dream last night that I lost all my MTG cards. I went on a rampage looking for them (Having some pretty expensive cards) but then I woke up... and remembered that I only play arena... so I cried myself to sleep..
