CGB, I hope you still continue to make some Historic Brawl content after your vacation ends. You seem way more happier playing this format, and tbh, it's way more interesting and varied to watch. I know standard is your bread and butter, but don't skip out on Brawl entirely! I've been following your channel for years and the last few weeks have been the more fun I can remember on your channel. I look forward to every video atm!

I would love an A-Z of brawl commanders.

When cgb added 4 counters to the blast zone it made my soul die

Counterpoint: Gwenna doesn’t require 50+ lands because it is a mana dork, meaning you have fewer games like the first one (oops all lands). Also, verdant rejuvenation in a big green deck is a joy. You should try it out.

I absolutely love gwenna. She can pop off hard on turn 4/5 depending on your draw

Gwenna's problem is essentially "it dies to doom blade". If it's removed before you untap it just does nothing, and if removed twice it costs 7+mana and becomes basically useless. Azusa has an immediate impact because it allows you to play 2 more lands before opponent even gets a chance to respond. Gwenna can be more explosive under the right conditions, but Azusa is far more resilient and consistent. Verdant rejuvenation is very fun, but it's also just a classic win-more card because you need to already have a high MV creature on board, and opponent can respond by removing your biggest creature to make it a lot worse. I play it in my big green decks for the fun factor too but I can see why CGB, who likes to be as competitive as possible, doesn't play it.

@@1ryb360 use some of the 15 fewer land cards to play protection. Don’t walk your commander into doom blade. Gwenna becomes a bigger threat the more big things you play. Even with a 5drop on the field, getting 5 permanents for 8 mana or even 3 in your hypothetical where the biggest thing dies, in a deck where several are creatures with 5+ power is value.

Wow! May have to circle back to the Chandra deck later and see about adding Double Vision and Fiery Emancipation.

That Chandra game was similar to what i used to do with a Brash Taunter deck that took me to mythic. Essentially get an emancipation (or all 4 down), fight or shock my Taunter and that was game. I think my best was like 42k damage with one shot. Of course Ugin was the real mvp

Just curious why you bosejiu'd on your turn in the first game. They were short on lands and it ramped them for their turn. Why not wait until EoT on opponents turn? Land < extra card?

I include the three cards that let me play lands from my graveyard + 5 fetch lands so i can mega ramp + thin my deck in the lategame. Thoughts?

Probably fine as long as you have the critical mass of lands and 7+ mana spells.

I run 50+ lands in my Tatyova deck and that doesn’t even let you play extra lands like Azusa does, so if you’re running less than that for Azusa that’s definitely a problem haha

My guess is Emergent Ultimatum

The best combo with azusa for me is, ghost quarter and crucible of worlds.

Second tatyova player should know that asserting dominance with the crab prevents the opponent from drawing craterhoof

Correct me if I’m wrong but your point is that I should be satisfied since there is already a yorion brawl deck out. At first glance one would think you are correct and that I may have just missed a recent upload fulfilling my desire exactly. However, I think you may have been the one with the misunderstanding since I chose to use the work “another”. This means that I have acknowledged the yorion video that I assume you are referring to and that my desires are still unfulfilled and would greatly appreciate another yorion video. I appreciate your attempt at informing me that there is in fact a yorion video that would satisfy me but there is no satiating my thirst for sky noodle CGB content.

when you play an wb vamp aggro deck with 46 lands with an average mana value of 2 and still get mana starved it hurts.... i always say just one more land, it wont hurt, then i add one land and I HAVE OPENED THE FLOODGATES manaflooding to oblivion like 6 games in a row

It makes me cringe when I run into azusa or tatyova decks running artifact ramp and too few lands. I have 52 lands in my Tatyova deck (including mdfc cards).

That Jodah opponent having both Kira and Halana & Elena in their deck possibly losing the game because of it. If those counters hadn't been countered by Kira then the recastable Jodah would have been a single blocker for the trampler. Might not have mattered anyway but the need to mulit-block because Kira countered their own H&A hurt.

Wonder what op thought after that thoughtseize and you had nothing but land in hand. All those games were insane. Lol

idk the most Azusa Deck i play against idk they drop azusa play the lands and then nothing much happend since they have a empty hands

not sure if it was a good play but you could attack with azousa and if they block killing it you could replay it and play two more lands (5 total in one turn) because it's a new instance of your commander.

Or just add Karn to every deck because shutting off artifacts most times auto-concedes opponents
