It's interesting, but I do think we've had a ton of personality type of games like this that it's not even special as it once was a decade ago. Personally, I do think Until Dawn is a perfect example of the choices you make affecting the outcome of the game. And before that game, Mass Effect pretty much standardized how it should be made in all future games and such.

Keep in mind that there are hundreds, and hundreds of video games out there from previous generations, waiting to be played if you have an itch to try something new, even if that genre isn't made for you (I know I did when I started with survival horror game emulation back in 2016 and was stumped for weeks without a manual).

I like Hollow Knight as much as the next guy, but I'm tired of people trashing the announcements from these Indie Worlds simply because Silksong wasn't there. The game seems right around the corner. Please be patient and give other games the spotlight.

I think people hear that they’re warioland inspired games and not having played any warioland games namely the style the execution the Mach speed trail they think those qualities are unique to pizza tower and since it released first it’s therefore more original than Anton blast which isn’t the case (this is what happened to me I looked up warioland gameplay for the first time since this indie show case)

Props to the developers of Little Kitty, Big City for doing a whole bit for a meme reference. Also, having played the demo, Antonblast is a big recommendation. It's exactly what it seems like, but more closely resembles Wario Land than Pizza Tower, and has more of an emphasis on being careful since Anton, unlike Peppino, can get hurt. The soundtrack is also dope. No, the developers did not pay me for this, I just really wanna see awesome indie games succeed.

Little Kitty Big City is just Stray with graphical settings turned all the way down to cel shaded GameCube game levels to run on the Switch

I think we should stop expecting Silksong to have a trailer on any random showcase that just happens to announce indie games. I think we should just wait for Team Cherry to announce it themselves (or ahead of some showcase they will actually confirm Silksong will be on there) and hey regardless of how long it takes, I believe silksong will eventually come.

Yo, it's kinda funny how the Xbox was known for its indie games that people loved and played on PC, but when some indie games come to the Switch, all people do is complain. Then, when those same games finally make it to the Switch from the xbox, people start praising them again. It's like, what gives, some these games look actual fun.

Silk Song will never be in a Indie Direct again. Because it's gotten WAY to big. It would steal the attention from all the other indie games. Here's hoping for an announcement in June/July.

Though Yar's Rising looked pretty interesting, and it's always good to see new cool stuff from WayForward, one of my all-time favourite indie studios! 49:51 NGL I'm pretty excited for Another Crab's Treasure, wish they showed more details than just a brief clip passing by.

@@chunkymonkey7983 If you really think Antonblast is a knock-off of Pizza Tower, then you prob don't even know what the true definition a knock-off is. Just because it has a "similar" art style does not immediately make it a knock-off. That's like saying Bendy is a knock-off of Borderlands because of its similar cell-shaded graphics style, even though they're completely different games. Antonblast's gameplay doesn't look anything like Pizza Tower, it looks more like Wario Land mixed with a Looney Tunes flavor of chaos! I'd say it looks more fun and engaging than Pizza Tower TBH.

ANTONBLAST was the best of the showcase for me. I love that, with it and Pizza Tower, developers are continuing the legacy of Wario Land, the same way games like Bug Fables and Born of Bread were continuing the legacy of the first two Paper Mario games (up until The Thousand-Year Door remake was announced, anyway). Maybe with a little luck, Nintendo might become interested in revisiting the Wario Land series, but I'm not holding my breath on that one. Other highlights include Cat Quest III (love the pirate theme), Duck Detective, Steamworld Heist II (hey, another pirate theme, nice). That SCHiM game where you're a fish jumping across shadows looked pretty neat, though, as did that BZZZT game! Little Kitty, Big City is also cute, though it just made me think "Stray, but less atmospheric", though it makes up for it with all the cuteness seen so far in the game.

@@Nate2010 Circumstances of how a game is made is completely irrelevant to it's place in the market. The original Hollow Knight sold MILLIONS, and Silksong is one of the most wishlisted games on steam, ever. Those are the kinds of numbers that make first party AAA games aim for, and the kinds of numbers none of the games shown in an event this small will get to make. So more than anything, Silksong deserves to be rubbing shoulders with the big boys in an actual Direct or a proper Xbox showcase.

Lots of cool stuff in this Indie World!! Really excited to try stitch! 👀

Little Kitty, Big City is my favorite from this batch~ Europa looks like an indie Zelda 😆 The Stickers game and Stitching game seems good for kids!

Really good direct. Honestly while most AAA are god-awful these days, indies are really the way to go. Cheaper & with far more creativity & fun.

I personally would be offended if I was the creator of one of these indie games and was also a silksong fan, and a bunch of people in the stream chat completely ignored my game and basically said it sucks because they only care about silksong.

@@Nate2010 Because you are literally just attending it for a game that most likely wouldn't be announced on a casual indie game stream by nintendo. No one actually cares about the indie games in general, they are literally only there for a game that is most likely not going to be showcased like this. Plus I've seen multiple people say that these games look bad and they only were hoping to see Silksong. Even if it isn't straight up "I hate these games" it's basically "I'm only here because I don't really care about anything other than silksong." It's just rude to need to state that as an opinion. That is something no one cares to hear. If I made one of these games, I personally wouldn't want people coming here and complaining because they expected better.

At this point the game will be nothing but a disappointment to everyone. It was announced far too soon and when it comes out and not the absolute most perfect greatest in everyway game, everyone will be overly harsh on it.

We've been waiting 8 years for a Steamworld Heist sequel bro 😂. Why would you even expect Silksong in an indie world showcase, that's on you 😂​

I've had Sticky Business on PC for a while now! It's one of those games I find myself going to when I'm on a phone call or something, only to find myself crafting the perfect sticker store hours later. Such a fun and laid-back game and the character stories were genuinely interesting. I worry that the stickers and the sticker sheets might be tedious to craft with joysticks, but I hope this game gets a ton of love regardless. iirc, these developers have made a few other adorable and affordable games as well. Edit: omg if they made the switch version with touchscreen functionality, you could play with a stylus as if you were making all your art and running your shop on your tablet. Would be so cute

The exit 8 for switch was announced today too, why didn't Nintendo America include it?

Anton Blast looks interesting. Always happy to see a TMNT game, though rogue genre is... something. Cat Quest III is a maybe And well Steamworld anything is a huge plus. A lot of niche games shown. I guess that's a good sign the Switch is mega successful when people feel they can get enough sales out of a game that clearly caters to only a small sector of people.

I think it's both ironic and a shame that "Freedom Planet 2" was already able to come out before the latest Indie World showcase, since that game absolutely deserved recognition due to it being the sequel to one of my all-time favorite indie games, and I doubt that anyone else except me was able to play it on the day it was released as well... :(

Why do Amber and Tyler sound like they weren't given the script before they had to record Legitimately every single one of these games look great though, besides maybe the TMNT one. Nice showcase! Even if no Silksong.
