Having an entire section of the game where enemies are immune to using pogo is literally one of the reasons I'm so hyped for this, I feel that enemies will have so much more variation and will really make you think about most encounters. I honestly don't care how long this takes to release, if team cherry needs another year to make this game perfect then by all means!

@@flare_studios. soul master actaully isnt too hard, but heres a tip! near the end, he will crash through the ground and initiate a final phase, dont think you're over. wait for him to stop in one spot and wail on him i would generally recommend a very aggressive approach, just go absolutely nuts on him

Another detail I like is how the lava splashes up after Lace slams down onto the platform after her multi-slash attack. Most games in this kind of style wouldn't really show that, but Team Cherry went above and beyond.

The text went from "Listen" for the Knight to "Speak" for Hornet. I cannot put in words how happy these games make me.

I'm only a few minutes in, and here are several things I like about this: The commentators clearly know a lot about Hollow Knight and like it a lot, and are knowledgeable about how to play it It's almost done, if the "finishing development" comment is to be believed (edit: yeah, yeah, I know it's still not out yet. It's been mentioned 50 times in the replies. These were just my thoughts at the time of, no need to keep bugging me about it) They are speaking quietly so as to allow us to hear the excellent music and sound design They are giving us INFORMATION! Things I dislike: I don't have the game yet

This came up in the recommendations as I was watching today’s Indie Showcase and I thought Silksong was in it 😭

As a Hollow Knight fan who started playing this year, almost beat the hard pale Court mod, and is only missing only a few acheivments to finish everything, I can say that I never knew this video existed lol. I'm glad that we were able to see some gameplay at least. Makes me even more hyped when the full game releases!

It's really nice to have someone talking about the game who knows what they're talking about and isn't a developer. Although I would've loved to see Team Cherry

I'm assuming that what we saw in the demo is far from complete. The scale of those two areas seems much smaller than the areas in Hollow Knight, I feel like Team Cherry condensed the areas a bit just for the demo.

Kristian Strøm No, she just played the game and doesn't really care about the lore. It is clear by the way she talks on the first 10 minutes of the game.

I fell in love with Hornet the first time I fought her and was thrilled to learn she's the PC in this sequel. Makoto Koji's voice acting is such a perfect fit for the character design.

It's interesting that unlike HK, Hornet can actually converse with other npc's. Reminds me of what Fromsoft did with Wolf in Sekiro. I think it's going lead to bosses that feel slightly more personal

(Possible Spoilers to HK) I wonder if you'll have dialogue options that could lead to a character dying or turning into a boss rather than a helpful npc or something! Sorta like how you can choose not to help Zote/Cloth.

Is “HK” refering to the knight or the whole game?

I love that they have people who can actually play go through the demo, so many times you have to watch people fumble with the controls and never see how the game really plays

The silk in Silksong is a reference to her being the daughter of the Pale King who in his true form was a silk worm and and Herrah, the Beast who was a spider.

I calculated that I would have to hit the Hollow Knight (the last boss inside the black egg) 59 times with the pure nail and recharge my health each 21 hits. People like me do not play offense nor defense we play voodoo fence style.

My goodness this looks awesome. Big fan of Hollow Knight and SilkSong will certainly not disappoint. Did you see how fast Hornet can heal and she can flip and dash attack and soooo much more. Damn, this E3 is so hype

I would like to think the ability to heal all the damage is necessary because the game will be more difficult than the first game. Looking forward for more details about this game though.

@@alexandersk But she doesn't heal all her health at once. From this video and a different gameplay video, she has a meter that fills with silk or something, and that heals her based on how much silk she holds. So it may rely on movement and dodging more than whaling on your opponent than the original Hollow Knight. Perhaps she gains the silk much slower, or it is also used for other stuff so you have to decide when to heal. That would make up for the instant healing.

17:05 woah, Hornet got punished. The heal was interrupted and did nothing, but still used meter. It balances out how potent it is, so it keeps healing during battle tense like in the first game.

Yeah plus you can only heal with a full meter now, so if you're at 1 hp with an empty silk bar, you're going to have a bad time

I'm late to this but even with that fact it still feels OP. Unless all the bosses are actually hard af all it looks like you need to do is hit them 8 times for a full insta heal.

Jim Beam all the bosses probably *are* going to be hard af to counter that, probably even harder than in Hollow Knight. Lace is only the second boss in the game and she hardly leaves any openings to attack at all. Good spacing is going to be key in this game.

@@spark1400 Well, it's only a HUD glitch. You see hornet take damage after the 3 mask hit and no masks are lost. It happened in Hollow Knight alot when using deep focus.

I had a dream about silksong last night. The review scores came out on the steam page and everyone went nuts. Max numbers all around

One of the tags said coming out soon… We are not just fools, we are the entire colosseum

I'm really glad these presentation ladies clearly know what they're talking about and don't presure the dev with lots of questions while she's playing the game. More game presentations like these plz

Well, there are two main signs of a boss battle: one, a big room, and two, the gates that close when battle begins (the spike looking things at the beginning of rooms) Luckily, Dung Defender is easy once you learn his attacks (I beat him second try)

I love when they get fans of the original game to play these demos, they already vaguely know how to play the game and they give a lot of insight into how the game feels compared to the original. These women were lovely to listen to. It sucks that this game ended up taking a lot longer than we initially thought but I hope that means the game will be great and polished when it releases, since they said this will be the last game in hollow knights world I’m guessing they want to make it a real good one.

@@fabry4050 I think so? I remember them saying they wanted to move onto different projects after silksong and step away from that world for a while to try new things. Now that doesn’t mean abandoning it forever but it sounds like they’d want to make it a good send off for the series for the time being. Of course it’s a small team and they can change their mind at any point but I’m sure they’d eventually want to try new things and not stick to hollow knight forever.

Because there both seal of bindings. There silk patterns created by weavers to protect something. And since hornets captures are kidnapping weaver they are using a cage with one on it to preserve hornets mind. If only everybody decided to get 112%
