I absolutely watched The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles show first-run with my mom and learned about SO many historical figures for the first time. Plus my mom is a historian so it was perfect for us.

I was a child of the 80s and so became a huge fan of Indiana Jones. And I've got to admit, I absolutely love the fridge escape scene in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. ❤🤠

The year that Crystal Skull came out, Disneyland did a special Indiana Jones event, Indiana Jones Summer of Hidden Mysteries. They added props from the movies to Jungle Cruise, and there was a show, Secret of the Stone Tiger, and Indiana Jones would run around Adventure Land.

*My favorite weird Indiana Jones story:* The comic wherein Indiana Jones finds the wreckage of the Millennium Falcon in The Pacific Northwest (America), while following-up on local legends about a Sasquatch creature (who ends up being Chewbacca). He finds the skeleton of Han Solo, slumped over in his pilot chair, with an arrow in his chest, and the sight gives Indy a really weird sad feeling of familiarity. An old Chewbacca watches as Indy makes his trek out of the forest, perhaps also feeling a strange familiarity at the sight of the man. Such a sad story, but it's always stuck with me.

If you're looking for strange side adventures, I would suggest the Star Wars audio dramas. There are many full cast audio productions. The movies are adapted and massively extended, which is fun. There are far too many to mention but the weirdest I've come across is Nightlily: The Lover's Tale. I won't spoil anything but it's become pretty obscure so it's not available online as far as I can tell. You actually have to buy the CD or cassette to hear it now. But it's worth it. And it's not what you think it is either. It's also part of the anthology book "Tales From The Mos Eisley Cantina" but trust me, you want the audio version. It's a full cast audio drama, not an audiobook Anyway, I dig the production value in your videos. I know it takes time and effort to put that together. I found your channel a while back and I've enjoyed it. I've recommended it and will again. You're doing good work here. I have a feeling you're going to talk about some of my personal interests like Sky High, Tower Of Terror, So Weird, or Up, Up, And Away at some point. There's a lot of obscure or semi-obscure Disney media I think is interesting so this is definitely a channel to follow Also, I love The Rocketeer. It's too bad there wasn't a proper sequel

Great history lesson of the franchise. I learned a lot.

So, KZread recommended me your videos. I gotta say, I'm glad that happened because what I have watched from you has been excellent. I've only seen this video and the Tron 2.0 one, but I can tell that there is so much passion and talent and effort put into your show. The editing, the script, it's all on point and you've got a new sub for sure. The only thing I could critique, and PLEASE take this as a constructive criticism rather than one of malice, is that the narration tends to follow a lot of the same cadence when you deliver the lines. For four or five sentences straight you have the same intonation and delivery, although you've gotten much better here than in the Tron vid, it can become a bit disengaging. If you don't mind taking my advice: when you're recording the narration, deliver the lines with the same passion that you have exhibited throughout your videos, but make it sound natural as if you were talking to a close friend about these crazy things Indiana Jones went through. Listen back to your recordings and if there are several lines back to back that have the same melodic sort of rise and fall, maybe go back and rethink the way you should deliver them. Study the great orators of our time: MLK, Spalding Grey, FDR; and take note of the rhythm and tone that they purposefully choose to adapt to every sentence that they speak. It's a symphony, a well-thought-out melody, a roller coaster ride of dips and turns and airtime that leaves you eagerly awaiting every next word. That's all to say, you have great potential and your channel takes me back to mid 2010's review-KZread, where you'd definitely be one of the most shining stars amongst the rest. Much love!

I liked the older Young Indy stories since they hedged closer to the films as far as pulpy adventures. I didn't find Junior and Dad meet famous dude stuff less interesting. But even with the older Indy stuff there were times they seemed to want the more easily delineated bad guys that the films had, so some conflicts came across very uneven in tone. They had some pretty original takes on some events and time periods, though. There haven't been a lot of main film examples for the formula to have it clearly defined but yeah, there tends to be a lot of groundedness that makes the supernatural elements stand out and feel more special. Indy's skepticism, especially early, should pretty much dominate. He might come across quite different after seeing the crazy stuff that comes up later on. Of the ancillary stuff I remember liking Fate of Atlantis and plan on revisiting it. Temple of Doom tried different things, Crusade had the father-son dynamic. I actually like a lot of elements of Skull but there are some real missteps there that regularly take me out of it, the fridge only being one of several. Lot of stuff on your list surprised me, this was fun, thank you!

@@theothervault It was an altered version of the Stunt Show Spectacular at DisneyWorld Hollywood Studios, but instead of the normal show it was a crossover with Star Wars. I replied with some links to the show itself but I don't think they went through. The official name of the stuntshow was "Indiana Jones and The Raiders of The Lost Jedi, Temple of Doom"

In the movies the Ark of the Covenant and the Holy Grail have magical properties, so the fantasy elements in the comics are not out of place. I used to watch The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (great show).

None of these are even the weirdest Indiana Jones story. One of the comic books has Indie travel to the Pacific Northwest where he not only encounters bigfoot, but also a crashed vessel with a skeleton that seems oddly familiar. For those wondering why it's weird, bigfoot is actually Chewbacca, the crashed vessel is the Millennium Falcon, and the skeleton is Han Solo.

I actually kind of like the Star Wars version. I play the GBC version from time to time. I've always wanted a procedurally generated Zelda-like adventure that would be a new adventure every time and it's definitely not that but it's sort of reminiscent of the concept so I kind of like it
