Beautifully produced video again, can really understand now that cruisers got something to them. :) I got my license last tuesday, and since thursday I'm riding my Kawa Z400. Your channel, along to others, really encouraged me to start riding the last months and experience that georgeous feeling that comes along with it. Big thank you from Germany, cheers! :) - Patrick

Your video is a refreshing change from the typical test ride reviews and the "5 things you need to know", and 7 things they don't tell you" videos. I've been looking at Vulcans, Shadows, and similar. I keep coming back to the Scout / Scout 60 and the solid info in this video helps me to nail it down. Thank you, stay safe.

I must say, that was a really informative video! My English cousins have such an uncanny way of digging into and bringing out the real crux of the matter so well. I'm a week or so away from being able to climb on my new 2022 Scout. It's on a train or truck somewhere out in the midwest about now making its way to California. I haven't had a bike for a long time plus I'm old and my body speaks to me from places I didn't know I had before. So, one of my big concerns was how my body, especially my back, was going to hold up on a longer trip. I was so relieved to hear your positive review of how comfortable the bike was, and seeing the amount of stuff you carried on it. I am really encouraged to take a longer trip. There were so many things you addressed that I had concerns about I feel really good about my choice of bikes. I can't wait to hit the road!

What a nicely done video. Lots of great information and detail with lovely photography. I have an Indian Scout and absolutely love it. Living in the USA, I sometimes get annoyed with so many people believing you need an 800+ pound, 1200cc+ motorcycle to tour. Thumbs up to you for doing fun 2 up touring on a fun nimble sized bike. I have Dart flyscreens on my Royal Enfield 535 Continental GT and my Triumph Trident 660 and absolutely agree they do a great job. Also appreciate you pointing me to a torque adaptor. I find old school torque wrenches somewhat a pain and this looks like a great solution. Thanks for posting.

Had a 2017 scout, put 20k miles on it. Must-haves in my opinion are floorboards and a seat that lets you move around a bit and wider for the passenger like the touring ones from Corbin. In the end wife couldn't stand the poor suspension anymore and we needed more storage so we upgraded to a springfield. Much more comfortable but heavier. Wish I could have kept both.

  • @WildlifeMoto

I want to take my lady on quick day trips mostly. I owned a 1984 Suzuki GS 1100L and did some occasional 2up riding. LOVED that bike- $4K new back then! The Scout looks similar to me. I like the liquid cooled and HP. Take care.

Thanks for this great video. I'm trying to decide between a 2022 Indian Scout ABS (1133 cc) or an 2019 Indian Scout 60 ABS (999 cc). I'll use it for touring (w/ a passenger) in North America so there are mountains, e.g. the Rockies. Wondering if the smaller Scout 60 could handle a passenger, luggage and steep terrain. Probably yes at 78 HP. :) Also wondering if the Scout would be overpowered for me (100 HP !). Thanks again. edit: HP for Scout 60/ Scout

Nearly 30,000 miles on my 60. What you would discover is that the power difference between the Sixty and the 69 is negligible unless you are *really* pushing the revs in every gear. They are nearly evenly matched until you get high up in the rpms. And that requires "riding it like you stole it". Example, at 70 I am barely hitting 4k rpm on a bike that has peak HP at 5800 and the 69 doesn't pull ahead until about 5500. You have to push the heck out of it to keep the revs in a range where the 69 comes out ahead.

Great review. You could probably save a ton of money by skipping the expensive panniers and just going with the small luggage rack and the strap on bags don't you think? Altogether this review made me think why not just buy a Scout rather than spend more on a bigger cruiser when the Scout seems perfect for the job? Thanks!

  • @WildlifeMoto

    @WildlifeMoto

See if you can test ride one two up. For us it’s working out very well. If you get one, you might want to budget for a suspension upgrade. The stock shocks are pretty good, but you’ll find more comfort with something like the K-Tech Razor Lites (video on these soon). The price of Indian accessories is a joke. They are very high quality parts, but still horribly overpriced (even the dealers admit it). There are third parties who make panniers for the bike, brands like Hepco and Becker and as you say, soft luggage on the rack might also be ample for your needs. I’ve invested in the Kreiga US system and I’ve used it on all my bikes for years - it still looks brand new.

I was about to get a blue one (that I didn't even like that much) when this popped up on a website called Motorcycles Direct. Couldn't believe it! Sorry I didn’t log it. It has a massive tank so range isn’t an issue.

One thing I don't understand with all of these middleweight bikes is the fact that most of them come with only a single front rotor. They know these are meant for cruising, they know many riders will 2-up and obviously know luggage will be added. So, why not add more stopping power from the get-go? 561 lbs + added weight is still a decent amount of weight.

You certainly have to get used to using the front and rear on these bikes.

I really like these bikes, but I can't deal with the lean angle especially for 2up riding. I'm hoping they address that in the future. Looks like you had a great time either way. Good job on the video.

It will easily cruise at 70mph on dual carriageway roads. Best comfort speed is between 50 and 60 on the A roads. After that, you feel the wind.

I love how this absolutely chad is touring on a sport cruiser with a MotoGP lid. The testosterone I have gained in this 26 minute video has helped my pack on 20 pounds of rock hard mass. I bow to you alpha.

I understand that it is your bike and you can do whatever you want to do to it... And i I always appreciate your mods. But man! Please get rid of that furry thing on the pillion seat. It looks like Ugg boots of seats... Otherwise this is one beautiful looking motorcycle...

Haha, it's not permanent, you just lay it over the seat for longer trips. Makes a big difference.

1200 GBP for a set of panniers?! Throw in 250-300 GBP more and you can get a whole new TVS Apache RTR 200 in India... 😑 Damn!!!

Indian charge a lot for accessories. There are brands like Hepco and Becker that make slightly bigger bags for slightly less money (but not much). Highly recommend the Kriega gear though.
