Indian Girls Code | Aditi Prasad | TEDxChennai
Aditi Prasad founded Indian Girls Code to introduce programming and technology to a new generation of coders in India. She sought to empower underprivileged girls in an orphanage in Trichy using coding and robotics. Watch this talk to learn more about this empowering movement. Aditi Prasad, COO and CIO of Robotix Learning Solutions, is on a mission to inspire and educate young girls and boys to learn to code and develop real-world solutions for real-world challenges. Aditi is harnessing the power of robotics, coding, STEM & Maker Space to make school education more interactive and immersive.
Robotix Learning Solutions aims to inspire and equip the next generation of innovators and creators. In 2014, under the aegis of Robotix, they next laid the groundwork for ‘Indian Girls Code’, a free, hands-on coding and robotics education programme for underprivileged girls. The first Indian Girls Code initiative was at an all girls orphanage Annai Ashram in Trichy, Tamil Nadu India, teaching 75 girls coding and robotics.
In India, where technical degrees often lead to better jobs, Aditi is promoting educational pathways that lead to better careers and opportunities for girls. She is helping to make tech studies more approachable and fun, and creating girl game changers in STEM. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Are you truly believing womens are more or equal mental and energy compare to mens? I don't think so .they have some limitations to work in our market .so how can we manage gender equality in employment in our business..

Ingraining robotics and programming clubs in all the schools will induce technical knowledge amidst students... I came to know about arduino sensors at 14 {should have acquainted with it earlier!!}

Yes sister this really true..I always aspired for aerospace but my parents despite being educated didn't allow me to opt for it..and not even for mechanical engineering saying that they are for men...but I am really suffering to study computer science... I was always topper in thermodynamics and engineering mechanics..I loved those subjects...but now I am a failure in information technology..😢😢all just because of gender inequality,even among educated people..

It's not gender inequality dear but rather it's gender based stereotyping. If a guy happens to be in your place, he might be pushed to take up mechanical engineer because it suits for a male. Your parents did what they thought was best for you. Now that you're free, you may take up Mechanical Engineer as a career if you have the will. I have two friends who finished engineering and then wrote medical entrance for JIPMER and joined MBBS for the simple reason that engineering is not their cup of tea. The ball is in your court. If you are less than 30 years age, I guess you're eligible for all options in most universities.

Nirmala Albert it is easy to advice .. your idea never goes with real life in a family where marriage is mandatory after age of 21... education is also like choosing Ur life partner...one life one course/field one life partner for a girl from a very orthodox under middle class family

PRRASANTHI V S well try to maintain a strong stance to your parents and make a decision for yourself it is a constitutional right of yours. Especially if you get a job in IT

Why we girls are given Barbie dolls and kitchen sets in our hands... Why can't both boys and girls learn through toys which are common for both. .True we are victims of gender bias at a very tender age.
👌👌👌👌👍
Each and every Indian girl needs a mother like her 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Mind blowing speach...
Ur really amazing sister
Without building a great family, no one can build a nation or technical expertise it can be women or men. the question is who will build a family, only who are well qualified to build a family. that's mother.
Good
