Those who are wondering about why delay of bombs, the answer is Jaguars fly at low altitude to evade radars and are used for deep penetration bombing missions. They need to given sufficient time to run away after dropping bombs from a low height, this is why the bombs would detonate after a time delay, otherwise the the Shockwave and ensuing fire might possibly cause damage to the aircraft.

@@jayasuryanj3782In the Balakot strike, Mirages did not cross IB or LOC. The munitions used were Spice 2000 bombs which are standoff weapons. Use of Jaguar would have necessited them to enter territory of Pakistan which was out of scope as per mission detail.

The Jaguar was the second fighter I flew after the MiG 21 . Went on to fly the Mirage 2000 and the MiG 29 before retiring after 21 years service. Now an A320 Captain. Miss my fighter flying days every single day .

@John Hero I won't say this Jaguars airframe still has a lot of life left . It's still a lethal thing.iaf uses upgraded darin version of Jaguars. The problem lies with its engines , since with no of upgrades they have largely become underpowered. Further flying at low altitude makes it more prone to manpads .

It's not possible for drone to carry out low altitude bombings in active warzones. You have to carry out lots of wvasive manovers just reach you target. Pilot sitting far away in box can't have that kind of situational awareness which jaguar pilots have in live warzone bombings.

@@avdhutpawar1545 it's always impossible until it's done. Drone can receive SAR data from other sensors/ drones or from a previous recce run from high altitude and paint the enemies. Then it can react in real-time if enemy is firing upon it. Everything is possible and India has engineers to do it. Just a question of taking the initiative from the top level. Drones can also do way more daring raids as losing one isn't a very big deal but losing a pilot and a jet is a significant setback even for a large force like India's.

@@crazydrifter13 idiot first understand how drones work. SAR is used when drones are flying at high altitudes. At low altitude you cannot use SAR. It's coverage area is very low at low altitude. It takes time to process SAR data. It also takes few seconds time to send data through satellites because operator is sitting hundreds of kilometer away. It's impossible to use drones for this kind of mission. There are high chances of failure.

It is a matter of great shame as a nation that IAF still flies Jaguars, a fighter for which engines and parts have to be scavenged from other countries inventories who have scrapped them. Jaguars aren't bad. Requirements of iaf and other countries are different . Their airframe still has much life left . Iaf uses heavily upgraded jaguars . Even China uses old f7 jets The problems mostly lies with engine coz with number of upgrades these jets are largely underpowered . Further problems increases with advancing manpads technology. Otherwise jaguar is still a super Jihadi fighter.

That was for just to demonstration... The were timed for press to cover... You can easily hear when they will explode... That's how every air power in world demonstrate... Learn some physics man .... Real war and demonstration differ... US said no one can detect Raptors.... Su30MKI can do that easily... Su57 Can do that.... The one who wins in a close fight is called a Dogfighter... Supermanouverable.... And F22 and F35 isn't one

This is just demonstration package of indian army they can't use sharpnel or highexplosive one for demonstration because of sharpnel travelling. And the delay is for the aircraft to travel further it's just kind of demonstration for the audience. The explosion scale is big only because of the camera length and perspective it looks average. Don't jump to conclusions y'all 💀

I really need convincing real information related why there was time delay in explosion. They are Using Practising bombs isn’t convincing answer. Questioning why did it take time to trigger the explosions under the bomb. Practising bombs use no explosives or low explosives but triggering it on time really matters.

Since the detonation of both bombs occur with 1 second difference, the shockwave of 2nd bomb should have affected the smoke cloud formed by 1st bomb, even that is not visible. And notice carefully, 3 bombs were dropped but only 2 explosions. I think these bombs were dummy bombs and there were explosives rigged on the bombing site just like the army day kamikaze drone demonstration. If this the demonstration of bomb deployment then it's fine. Wahan bathe logon ko kya pata chalega.

See the Russian Su-25 frogfoots, the CAS is proving valuable after the important SAMs are taken out by more advance aircrafts/weapons. Low flying is a good idea for ground strike missions

Radars are fixed at high altitudes angle... So they can't detect below it. That's why aircraft fly at low altitude for not triggering air defence
