Anything can fire the laser guided Hellfire. However it needs a laser with a known frequency that can be programmed into the missile. On the Apache, the frequency is done using the onboard computer and a data link to the missile.

It can fire rockets that way. Hellfire missiles want to go up so they can drop straight down on their target.

It depends. The Apache doesn't need to see the target and it can control armed drones. To the enemy, missiles just appear out the the sky since their sensors can't see through trees, buildings and hills. The range of the Hellfire is 11km and the range of the Brimstone II is 40km.

Taking nothing away from the Apaches, but the ALH-WSI is as good, if not better. Nevertheless great assets for the forces.

Finally, the IAF pilots are learning how to fly or rather drive the helicopter into battle pose. If you remember correctly, the time when they received these choppers 2 years back..the pilots where just flying them straight and slow as if u driving a new toyota corolla out of the showroom. I was like what? Bcoz they were not trained how to maneuvre this Apache 64 - E. Cuz pilots needed US training. They only knew how to fly rooski helicopters since 1947.

1.) It does have HMDS and Night Vision 2.) It doesn't need the NATO Link 16, Indian Air Force uses the Israeli-designed and Indian-built B-NET AR which is superior to Link 16. That is what is installed on these Apache as well.

Don't forget Pak-Afghan area is having heaviest deployment of stringer missiles which can easily hit Apache while flying at low height for precise attack.DEFENCE PLANNERS NEED TO THINK OVER IT.

@@eternal1967 Afghans are not reliable. With withdrawal of US troops,they gave up 20 years US loyalty in 24 hours and entire Afghanistan changed sides without any resistance. They are using U & U think U are using them.None is serious ,loyal to each other. It appears that Taliban(Actually Hakkanis) are two timing India(for investments in dams,health,food assistance) & China(for expansion of BRI through Afghanistan and related benefits)
