this track REALLY shows off the pit. i love it. i played trombone for In The Heights last year and it was a haul on this one, especially the brass players improv and range but we got it. appreciation for everyone in this, but man this took practice. that trumpet range is insane to play clean and in tune too.

It's so fun to come back to this clip and notice the tiny things going on in the background. Like Graffiti Pete stepping out of arrangement for a second to stop Usnavi from getting near Vanessa in 0:08, and Vanessa in 1:00 getting upset when she sees Usnavi dancing with Yolanda. It amazes me how so much thought was put into the choreography in this number. Like, they planned out every damn little detail! It makes me so much more excited to see how that will be incorporated into the film adaptation on 2020

I won't forget seeing the national tour seven years ago in Costa Mesa. The choreography is sexy and evocative! I'm glad Lin managed to get a majority of his production team back for Hamilton.

Okay Lin is not the most fluid dancer here lol, but damn you can see in Mary Poppins how much he has improved in his movements, he’s got much better flow now. I’d die if he was ever on “Dancing With The Stars”, it’d be beyond amazing.

Sandra Caraballo Amen! I may not be Puerto Rican Dominican or Cuban. But I have Mexican ancestry on my dad’s side although he was born in East LA. And my half Hispanic roots felt something about this show I couldn’t easily explain as a teen. In the Heights made the scene on Broadway when I was in the 8th grade. But I didn’t see the show until two years later when I was about to start my junior year of high school.
