Karen Olivo played Angelica in the original Chicago production of ‘Hamilton’ from 2016 until 2017. Lexi Lawson played Eliza in the Broadway production of ‘Hamilton’ from July 2016 until October 2018. Christine Allado played Peggy/Maria and was understudy Eliza in the original London production of ‘Hamilton’ from 2017 until 2018.

After years of listening to Karen, Melissa just sounds so small and delicate. Karen’s voice is so strong and full and conveys a real gritty toughness.

for me, Melissa fits Carla better I see both Vanessa and Nina as very strong women and in a musical, even if it's a movie, both their looks and their voices need to fit. I just can't see Melissa's Vanessa as a strong fighter, the only thing I got right from her was the dreamer part, because Melissa sounds and looks dreamy, but I just can't feel the same "I'm struggling but I'll get out of it" I get from other Vanessas, just the "I'll get out of it"
I love in the Korean ones when she sprays him with her bottle - that's brilliant! Very cheeky, I don't think that happens in any of the other versions.

Even though I didn’t enjoy the movie, I am glad it’s creating new fans! In The Heights has been a bit under appreciated so I’m glad the movie is giving the musical some more well-deserved attention. :)

I just have to say how immensely impressed I am of both Japan’s & Korean’s casts for singing in 3 different languages on stage. SHOOK!!
I wonder if something about the story gets lost in translation when performed in Japan. It's an amazing musical but a lot of the references are bit too "deep cut inside jokes" from the Latin American community in New York

I love how the movie revived ITH's popularity again
I’m so very fascinated of all the different ways Vanessa was interpreted in terms of many things like vocals and just general character.
Nothing tops Karen Olivo.

Karen and Melissa are the tops for me. But Kylie took me by surprise!! The young lady’s got a career ahead of her. I also wouldn’t mind going to see this show in Korea. I speak zero Korean but I’m pretty sure I’d love the show all the same, based on what I saw here.
Absolutely LOVED Melissa in the movie. Amazing!

The Korean version was incredible
Dominican Usnavi got me dying. 🗿 Petition for Lin to make it the official Spanish translation of ITH!!! Pleaseeee. My faves were Karen, Diana, Seo-yoon, J-min, and of course Melissa.

So, I know of a high school who did in the heights, with a double cast Vanessa. So two different girls sang it..I believe. It been a while since I last watched it

In the Argentina production, in Sunrise, in the parts where Nina teaches Benny Spanish ("esquina...corner, tienda...store, bombilla...lightbulb", etc) is mostly kept as written in the original libretto. The chorus ("anything at all can happen just before the sunrise") is in Spanish
