In the Footsteps of Jesus: Walking the Path of Love

Jesus Christ asks us to love one another. Elder Quentin L. Cook, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles shares his testimony of Jesus Christ's administration of the last supper and the powerful principle taught at that event.
The final two days of the Savior’s mortal ministry prior to His Crucifixion are profoundly important and in some ways beyond comprehension. He took bread, broke it, prayed over it, and passed it to His disciples, saying, “This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.” The Savior subsequently accomplished the Atonement. He took upon Himself the “burden of the sins of mankind” and the “horrors that Satan … could inflict.” This ultimately culminated in Christ’s triumphant Resurrection on Easter Sunday. Christ fulfilled His sacred mission as Savior and Redeemer. As we ponder what it means to be Christians today, think about what our path of discipleship will require of us. The Savior’s charge to His disciples to love one another-and the dramatic and powerful way He taught this principle at the Last Supper-is one of the most poignant and beautiful episodes from the last days of His mortal life. He was not teaching a simple class in ethical behavior. This was the Son of God pleading with His Apostles and all disciples who would come after them to remember and follow this most central of His teachings. How we relate and interact with each other is a measure of our willingness to follow Jesus Christ. As His disciples, there will be times when we will be tried and persecuted unjustly and mocked unfairly and face temporal and spiritual storms of a magnitude that will seem unbearable to us and experience bitter cups that we pray would pass from us. No one is exempt from the storms of life. We rejoice in all the Savior has done for us. He has made it possible for each of us to gain our salvation and exaltation. I bear my apostolic witness that Jesus Christ lives and is the Savior and Redeemer of the world. He has provided the pathway to true happiness. Of this I testify in the name of Jesus Christ, amen. #BecauseofHim

While watching this video, I thought of the beautiful symbol of the bread being torn juxtaposed on the commandment to love like Jesus loves. Sometimes, as a mother of four young kids, I feel like I am being torn apart. This morning, I feel more faith that this process is helping to sanctify me, and that the Savior can heal and restore me to someone much better than I was before. ❤️

Blessed are we to have a living Prophet, President Russell M.NELSON, who speaks in eloquence and reverent respect of our Master Creator, and those who serve with him, brethern and sisters. So looking forward to the Easter messages as we reverence Jesus Christ. Elder Cooks' voice is so peaceful and inviting.

Out of all of the days of the year make Easter time of Christ and remember Him. While we remember our Lord on Easter the world is hiding and hunting eggs like the eggs are lost. Then you will hear them say I was deceived. If you don't remember what the Lord has done now, you will when you take your last breath.

God told me to tell you that eating animals is a sin worse than having lustful thoughts, and that to be able to conquer your lust, you must first stop eating his animals. Rev 21:27 Nothing impure will ever enter the Kingdom of Heaven. This is the truth. I hope you listen.

Sadly, Mormons miss the entire point of communion. It is a sacrificial offering and not just a remembrance. John 6 makes that undeniably clear. I promise that as you prayerfully study the Bible every day, you will make better decisions - every day. I promise that as you ponder the word of God in the Bible, you will see that Jesus Christ built one (1) true 'universal' Church, to stand against the gates of hell, He sent the Holy Spirit to guide and teach us, and He promised to be with us until the end of the age. His Church is still here, 2000 years later, the the Apostolic authority given by Jesus Christ and His Church is the pillar and bulwark of truth. Jesus Christ DOES NOT break his promises and there was never a need to 'restore' His church - EVER, but now the world is full of different churches, which all contain some truth, but all lack 'fullness of truth', and I say this in the name of Jesus Christ.

No, my friend, it is apostate Christianity which does not understand and has risen up with false creeds and doctrines which distort mankind’s relationship with God by distorting the Father’s relationship with His only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ did set up a Church and that rock was the rock of revelation. It is pure doctrine and truth internalised that can change one’s heart and life much more than what mainstream Christianity offers which is little to no foundation. You have forgotten the need for covenants and that our Father’s Adam, Noah, Enoch, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and so on have made those covenants with the Lord that he would bless the whole earth with. Apostolic and Prophetic Authority had to be restored because of the need to discern truth from error and to put down false doctrines, false philosophies, contention, dissension and shine forth pure love, eternal truths, an understanding of one’s purpose, who they really are and were and what we can become. Jesus has set His example and by communion we can feel His mercy, grace and merits as He prepares us to enter back into the Kingdom of our Father which no unclean thing can enter. 64,000 different Christian groups and denominations spread across Christendom and they are divided over doctrine and truth so much. But remarkably in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, though imperfect, the people are of one heart, one mind, one purpose. All together to spread truth across the world. So with the importance to understand truth more than ever I rebuke you and ask you to really see who we really are, it’s beyond glorious and the world does not understand nor can comprehend the glory of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints which is built on the foundation of Apostles and Prophets with Jesus Christ as the Chief cornerstone. We do read the Bible and I’m so grateful that we know how to worship and what we worship. Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Kingdom of God on earth which will fulfil Gods plans and purposes for bringing out the blessings of the Gospel, the power of the Atonement, eternal life and exaltation to all of Gods children. Come and see, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
