Glad that you are enjoying India. Actually, I am an Indian student here in Warsaw.
Despite being an Non-Goan Indian myself, I am sad to say most Indians really don't get Goa, which is evident from all the representations that I see in movies and vlogs. We tend to treat it like a party place with all night disco or an weekend cheap alcoholic gateway or at the best, a beach resort. Goa is a beautiful blend of awesome natural beauties starting from beaches to jungles, to mountains, to marine wetlands, lakes and rivers, to beautiful and simplistic village life in the interior, to old rustic charm of colonial era to the current generation of fun-loving local people and their culture with a slight bohemian touch. Goa has a vibe that is both energetic and leisurely, simultaneously. You managed to capture a good chunk of it. Your Goa series is the best representation of Goa I have seen in video format.
The Indian Music 🎶 is totally mind blowing. This is why the Beatles and so many other musicians travel to Indian. This is a wonderful trip, well done Freddie and Monika.
1979, I was 18, my first visit to Goa when Johncy Restaurant, Benaulim was just a shack. If you want to see what Goa was like back then head South for 150 miles. Take some beer with you. When you have passed the introduction to India, that is Goa, real adventure can still be found in the North East, Nagaland and Darjeeling being my fav.

Now India is developing really fast in 2 or 3 decades it will completely change.
India seems to me like a virtual feast for all the senses.
There's something very special about visiting a country where you truly feel as though you are in a different part of the world. India is definitely one of those countries.
At 5:55 The population was actually forced to leave due to INQUISITION. The portugese burnt down and looted many Hindu Temples and started forcing locals to convert to christianity. Hence people left in large numbers to other parts where the portugese did not have any influence. INQUISITION was the darkest and most brutal chapter of Goa's history!

What’s incredible is how they just ‘built’ them buildings so long ago. Like it’s no big deal!! Incredible
Gorgeous authentic music selection, meditative and apposite. Such vibrant colours, luscious and uplifting. If you want to avoid the crowd and the "smog" then simply avoid the major metro cities... Outside cities things are chilled out, lazy and empty. Goa, Kerala, Ladakh, North-east states... They're all similar in terms of being chilled out.

Oh my😂 Freddie is a quick learner @2:46 that's how you filter through Indian traffic.
fantastic, I get a Geography lesson, a history lesson, and a tourist film all in one
Great vlog of Goa Freddie, I was there twenty one years ago and I went with a plan. My plan was to take a current edition of MCN with me and then sit on a Royal Enfield with the beach and palm trees in the background while reading the MCN. It was a great photo and I sent it to MCN to let them use it as they did then but after weeks of buying the MCN it never appeared in the paper and to rub salt in my wounds they published a poor quality photo of two not even pretty girls sat on a beach that looked so similar to Blackpool Beach, no connection to motorcycles at all. Needles to say I've never bought an edition of MCN since.
Indias neighbors are Pakistan, Afghanistan,China,Bangladesh, Burma. Please take the time to appreciate how we preserved religious freedom in this tough neighborhood. Its important for us to preserve our democracy and multiculturalism. ❤
Bro that cricket match took me back to my school days....me and my friends all used to gather on our bicycles on some open area/fields and we used to play cricket like for 6 hours on the weekends...
Oddly enough, I thought the same about Old Goa. Panaji was much more my style. Will go back one day.
Very, very nice surroundings. The statue of the Mahatma in Old Goa, great. Indians are quite beautiful, being in India one must own a Royal Enfield.

That was a beautiful episode. The music complemented the camera work so well. Nice one Freddie & Monica!
Thanks for the the trip down memory lane.Much remains the same since I was last there in the very early 2000's yet also much had changed - seems much more "modern" - hipster coffee shops were not a thing back then (cold barely even get a coffee) no westerny type restaurants etc everything was pretty basic, still much poverty.....spent quite a long time in Palolem living in a beach hut smoking increasingly stronger weed......those were the days...lol
Absolutely love it man............That you are enjoying in India...you will never have this much fun and peace ever....anywhere else in the world.
This is one of my favorite episode of yours. First of all , i always appreciate you and Martha talk about prices of food and hotels. Mainly love this episode because you went to look for the old Goa. I left India (Mysore ) when i was 9 year old in 1996 and have the nostalgic yearning ever since. So much that i bought an old Enfield here in States. So seeing you in an old Enfield and searching for old goa is refreshing to watch. You must go Mysore and Ooty to see the old British Colonial hotels and hidden cafe and restaurants.
Hey Freddie happy to see that you are enjoying the beautiful state of Goa. Great video as always. A heads-up, on the 25th(Monday) it's the festival of Holi. If you are going out on this day then expect that people will be playing with colours(and sometimes water) especially in the first half of the day.
Ohh Freddie & Monika, brilliant filming, superb editing, eternal memories 👌

Hey Freddie and Monika. I must admit that Goa was not on my radar before seeing your videos. And now I am very interested and in particular, the opportunity to rent a Royal Enfield and do some sightseeing would be perfect for me. Lovely video in Goa, it looks like a georgous place to simply ride round on an small bike and take in the scenery. Hope you're both staying free of any food related problems 😁
Lovely video! There's a lot more for y'all left to see, maybe the next time y'all are here. If you want to visit a part of Goa that's old and pretty, you could go to visit Pomburpa, Aldona, Moira. Take the ferry to Divar island. You'll see all the old ancient homes that you were hoping to see in Old Goa. Also, Padaria Prazeres, a cafe/bakery in Panjim makes Pastel De Nata's everyday and I think, that's probably the only place that makes them in Goa, as of now!
Love your music selection.
Hey Freddie....if you are at Old Goa....you should also try checking out the Islands of Chorao and Divar which are accessible via free Ferry rides for motorcyclists....those parts of goa are usually devoid of any tourism activites and pure locals and in some parts stunning landscapes. You will surely enjoy a ride going through those islands on your bike and hopping on to those ferries.
Thanks for reminding me of my visit to Goa in the early 90s... The old capital was still under reclamation from the Jungle back then..Might l suggest Tiracol fort....My wife and l rode about this wonderful country just as you are now on an Royal Enfield. ..Crossing the Mandovi River by a rather 'rickety' looking ferry back then. Seeing it all again bought back many memories of 30 or so years ago....

Goan streets and flute music, incredible
I've to Goa at least 14 times inthe last 23 years. I wish I could have been able to intercept your trip to Old Goa..... 'underwhelming' is putting it politely. A complete waste of petrol as you found out. I'm surprised you didn't see the main church 8n Panjim with all the stairs zig-zagging up toit called Our Lady Of The Immaculate Conception. I'm not religious at all but it is a stunning piece of architecture. I haven't watched all of your Goa vlogs yet but hopefully you went to Mandrem beach where the river goes into the sea. Unspoilt because of the turtles nesting habitat and probably one of the most beautiful beaches in the World. If you ever go back to Panjim/Panaji go to 'The Ritz' restaurant (honest!) for a Thali, around six quid! I only found your channel recently and have subscribed. All the best to you and Monika, Charlie, Hammersmith.
Superb episode team! Definitely made me want to explore Goa.
