This video has really impacted me, I’ve lost that get on and ride mentality. I get so droned in the normal day to day life and never just go on a small lightweight road trip. So in short, thank you Freddie for inspiring to get out more and see more of the UK and Europe.

Not sure many actually "get" the lifestyle and philospohical aapect of motorcycling as well as Freddy does. Its not necessarily about the specific bike, and its not about how fast - or otherwise - you can be. Its about the actually mode of transportation, how it makes you feel and how it encourages you to go. Anywhere, at any time.

I retired 5 years ago and the usual question was "what are you going to do". I'm gonna get a bike and ride all the roads in the Yorkshire dales. I'm still riding them and can never get enough (as long as it's dry). To see the change in seasons in Gods own country! I have been blessed. I started a "tour of mainland Britain" by nearest coastal roads but it is so boring. As they say if it's not in Yorkshire it's shite. I'll be watching where you go in my back garden. The roads have it all, why go anywhere else.

Great video. You're dead right about the fairing in cold weather. Last year I bought a BMW RT as a winter hack - it has been a revelation. £3,700 got me 110hp, electronically adjustable suspension, powered screen, cruise control, heated seats and grips plus all the luggage you'd ever need for a tour. It's not cool, it's not pretty but it is a damn good bike. With reference to your Tuesday videos - don't dream about bikes, dream about the ride and buy the bike that works for you. Dreaming about bikes leads to poor decisions and financial disaster. The RT is not for everyone but unless you only intend to travel to your local coffee shop, buy the bike you need, not the one you dream of.

Great to see you heading up North on the Transalp, as a Yorkshiremen myself I'm pleased you decided to visit "God's Country' and experience some of the best biking roads in the UK, only observation on your overnight stop , as nice as Ilkley is you would probably have been better off travelling a little further North and heading in to the Dales via Ripon, it's a truly beautiful ride up through Masham, Leyburn and Hawes, however whichever route you take I'm sure you will have an awesome ride 😀

Your hotel reminds me a place I stayed at in Silverton, Colorado. It’s an old mining town and the place had been a brothel in the 1800s. Had a restaurant/bar/piano player vibe downstairs and the brothel rooms above had been renovated into a hotel. All 1800s vibes. I love these unique type places!

Anyway, traveled about 4 hours up to Blackburn and walked into the guys house and he was very friendly; offered me a ‘cuppa’ and chat if I wanted. He was a young property developer. I declined as I had to drive 4 hours back. Great guy. Love the bike Freddy. I like the change from your usual bike, but the Bonny is more your thing. I do think you need two bikes in your stable to make it a bit more spicy. Cheers

This trip would have been much longer/more uncomfortable on say an (especially a 350) RE. Also interested in your thoughts on the Transalp vs the MG V85 TT. And don't tell me you didn't try at least one of the 245 different gins! Cheers.

Hi Freddie, Just watching your trip to the Dales and couldn’t believe my eyes when you arrived at the Gin Lounge, This is my home town and I’ve never been inside very interesting to see, I think it opened around 2 years ago from a previous location near the traffic lights, Have a great trip hope it stays dry for you.

Great video! Highly recommend the Swaledale area near market town of Hawes and crossing the Buttertubs pass north via Keld to the highest pub in England. Great scenery and adventurous roads! We visited the Dales last October. Many greetings to your channel from Germany 🙋🏻‍♂️

good to see you on the road again, Freddie. Every bike I've had wore a windscreen. I don't like the riding wind blast. p.s. - that gas mileage is great - my '22 Vespa 300GTS gets about 63.mpg.

Welcome to Yorkshire Freddie! Ilkley is a fantastic base location to explore the Dales. Hopefully you've done your research on the best roads and views. I look forward to seeing how you enjoy it. Hope the wind dies down a bit though!

Great looking bike in those colours. At that price it should come with tubeless rims, centre stand, heated grips, hand guards, handlebar USB socket, taller screen, cruise control and a heated seat should be an option. Then I'd condider it. The Gin joint looks fantastic, the kind of place I'd love to stay. Maybe in the Spring. Cheers.

I live up North Freddie, I green lane on my Ducati Desert Sled and I wear Keis heated everything. Total game changer. Was out last week in 0.c and it got me through along with heated grips. If you want to meet up for a tour of the Peaks, give me a shout. 👍

I've enjoyed watching your "old school 70's style adventure". I regularly did almost the same trip in the 70's on my Honda CJ250T (not one of Honda's finest) to visit my then girlfriend, now my wife for 44 years. I used to travel up the M1 from London after work on a Friday evening, the journey was OK in the summer but grim in the winter. Only 17hp on tap (good for about 65 ish, no screen or heated grips, and the waterproof clothing wasn't very waterproof. The roter points on my bike needed to be adjusted about every 100 miles or so when the bike was being put under pressure, so this meant carrying an impact driver to remove tightened bolts, sockets, and electrical bits and pieces to re-adjust the timing by the side of the road or hopefully at a service station. One of the "good things" about motorcycle travel in those days was that if the weather was really bad (e.g. one trip home to London in minus 5, with ice, snow and being blinded on the M1 by salt spray) if you could get to a railway station you could buy a ticket for yourself and an extra one for your bike and put the bike in the goods wagon at the end of the train and get home in comfort. I'm still riding and now live close to the Yorkshire Dales so I'm looking forward to your next episodes to see how you got on. All the best...

The jumping on a bike with wearing Jeans and coat and a bag strapped over the passenger seat does remind of how I'd go off somewhere in the 80's, but these days, do like a few creature comforts, big fairing, heated grips, heated seat and heated clothes and panniers, still the best winter tours are look at the weather, of it looks ok, throw a few bits in the panniers and go.

Enjoy your uploads very much. But it must be a real freedom/releive to ride without filming gear? For me personally I can not imagine filming while travelling. I am glad you like it so I can enjoy your experience. He who travel light travels happily, Thanks!

Well done on giving us some almost real time road trip content. You have come to the right place for scenery weather good and bad and hospitality. Enjoy ride safe. ( not my type of place to stay far too fussy I’d never sleep but it would be boring if we were all the same ! )
