Honestly this is the first song in a long time from them that gave me chills through every second of it! Everything they do is amazing but the harmonies in this... NO WORDS!! ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!!
Deejay was such a good choice for a guest for this song, his voice goes with it so well
wonderful reaction. I was stunned by Layne's arrangement - I love his arrangements but usually think of them as being more funny/antic. This one goes back to the seriousness and quiet beauty of True Colors. Just a warm, sweet, beautiful performance by everyone.
For me the "build up" of harmonies that you reference, pays homage to the original flavor of the Beach Boys style. What I love about this arrangement, is that Layne has given the song a more modern R & B/ pop feeling to it while paying homage to the original style as well.

Layne and Geoff are really good at doing that. Another thing that makes Voiceplay unique.
At this tempo everybody has to be on point for every note because every note can be heard.. They "strolled" right on through that room. So very fine!! Love it.
"It's in his DNA" So true. He is amazing! Thanks for the reaction, loved it!!
As always they killed it! Just loved it! Love voiceplay
I love this it made me smile since I'm in the hospital thanks for a great reaction
Poor innocent headphones, they never hurt anyone. Thanks for the reaction - love your take on various places in the song, like the top down building. And have a great and safe trip with your boys!
This is like a mix of my faves when I was a teen. Surfers and Motown/R&B. When I was feeling angst-y ( ages 13-15😂) I listened to this on repeat- which meant I had to lift the arm off the record platters and reset it onto the right track.
Love you bro! You know this. Thank you for the constant love & support. It doesn’t go unnoticed. Blessings & love to you & your platform 🙏🏾😎💯
This is so good! It’s just fantastic. I love it. I compared it to hot chocolate for the ears.
Great reaction Dennis. This was filmed in a room in Layne's house. He had to staple black curtains over the windows on the outside. Everything in the room relates to each member in some way. You should watch the behind the scenes now that you've reacted. Really cool. Love ya ❤
There’s a Hamilton musical book on the piano as a nod to Deejay!
Good catch on the building from the top down! Also, galaxy theme because they are out of this world! It took me a sec because it is SO different from the last one, but this is absolutely gorgeous. Great reaction, Dennis!
This was a life saving hug for me today...literally
Just beautiful.
The tempo aids the feeling of smooooooothness. Reduced tempo doo-wop. It's a slow stroll. Awesome!
Definitely my favourite of there recent stuff. These types of songs I feel they are at there strongest . Songs like we're good and if I were a rich man along with this I feel like they shine more than any others. I really hope we get more of these soon
Great reaction as always.
Deejay’s riffs! Layne’s sneaky little solos-just love it. Eli’s lighting is inspired as always, the mixing-soo good. And yeah, Geoff doing his thing, but no attention-snagging subs this time-everything was organic to the music. Agree about hearing Eli’s lower register. So question: do the crickets mean this is not true acapella? I’m always impressed when they can sing and also do rhythms with their hands and such. I’m too much of a klutz-can’t walk and chew gum. Loved this reaction! Congrats to Caleb!! Wow!
very cool cover ❤🏴
The body percussions were a nice touch. They must be from outer space, because they're all Stars. I wonder who's room that really is. I wish Caleb luck. 🤞🤞🍀Ω
Also, all the items in the room have meaning. A Hamilton reference because DJ Young is in Hamilton and took time out to do this.
This was filmed in Rayne’s Room Recording Studio. They’ve filmed here many times in the past, including many ACA Top 10s and Chandelier. You can get a 360 view of the studio if you watch Pattycake’s Disney Girls Like Me. Layne dressed the set with items that reminded him of all the VoicePlay members, Deejay, his daughters, his grandmother, and his wife’s family.
I know you're a patron, so watch the BTS if you haven't already. They have "bass lessons" and I think you'll be shocked at how low Eli and Cesar got. They could have easily sang Geoff's part in this. This isn't flashy like the last one, but OMG the harmonies!!
That little end run is so comforting. 💗
*Jump on this NOW. Katrina just did a reprise of a Tagalog song that's decades old (ANAK) in a legends concert. Learned in a day & this this incredible performance. Every reactor will be jumping on this. Quick! See it on her channel*
wow another great cover so soft and smooth and magnified by your reaction! 😉👏 Thks (your headphones are screaming "pity" lol) enjoy your weekend
Layne arranged this one.
Now that Deejay is done with Hamilton, hopefully he can be more available for collaborations with VoicePlay again.
With Geoff solidly the Bassmaster, I think we should call DeeJay the Riffmaster. I couldn't identify this as a Layne or Geoff arrangement so in Patreon I asked if there was a wildcard at play, like maybe Eli arranged it. Layne replied that it was a Rob Dietz arrangement that he (Layne) rearranged. Very cool take on what could be a repetitive song but they kept it fun and interesting all the way through.

Repetitive is right. That's the reason this was my least liked Beach Boys song. I found it boring at the time, despite loving the harmonies they were rightly famous for. I find VoicePlay's version to be far superior. Still great harmonies (better even) - add in the riffs and the beats, along with those breaks in phrasing, so much more interesting! And really, much more emphasis on the actual words for me!
The Beach Boy who wrote this suffered from agoraphobia, so In My Room was a safe spot.
Better than the Beach Boys. Voice Plays harmonies are much better than the Beach Boys. They are all amazing but Geoff's bass line was so smooth throughout & his bass held this song together like glue.
May be something to this 'out of this world' theme.....Kaz says they are Extra Terrestrials, not human, not of this world,.......Alien Life Forms......this coming from someone with the initials of E.T.......>^^^
I would have thought by now you’d know that Geoff is pronounced like Jeff.

This is great, but I like Tim's just a bit more.

Tim's is closer to the original, but I prefer the changes Voiceplay made.

This one is too staccato-ey (is that a word?) for me. The Beach Boys were much smoother. I prefer Tim's, too.

@@kmwwrench My thoughts exactly! Don't get me wrong - VP did a nice rendition of the Beach Boys classic, but I MUCH prefer the smoother versions of the song, like Tim's and the original. To each his/her own, though.
Can you react to Like A Saviour by Ellie Goulding? Thank you and have a nice day 😁
they went from nothing else matters to this, what is this leaning up to a Geoff Castellucci cover. Since Till Then Geoff has gotten lower I wonder what he is doing next you need to check kazandra brook channel kzread.info/dash/bejne/nIunmNeSY9mYmpc.html 😀

Poor Kaz and Sarah are just never ready for Geoff or vp
I'm an old fogie who danced to the Beach Boys original in high school. It will always be my favorite. These guys are very talented, but it's a little too staccato for me.
There are so many little details in this arrangement that make me like a song I've always been indifferent to, never disliked it but never liked it, just...eh! But this version is great, well worth listening to again and again. It bothers me a lot of times when Geoff goes really low when I think he really doesn't have to. Kind of takes me out of the song. But this time, with Eli's rather low voice coming in the very next like worked out beautifully. I just have one question, sparked by another reactor's comment. It says that Eli did the costuming. Why did he pick a shirt for Geoff with what looks like cow hoof prints all over it. I look at it and just have to giggle.

Someone said it was marketed as “Black Hearts”. What does Eli know that we don’t?🫣🤫😳
