The violin section still gets me teary every time, and I’ve been listening to this for two weeks. It’s just a masterpiece of an arrangement. Geoff is at the top of his craft!

I literally yelled at my screen when Layne caught that violin and started rocking out. I was shaking, tears streaming down my face, giggling like an idiot....all the emotions. This is just perfection, and I'm right there with ya.

I was in tears before the lyrics started. This song has special meaning for me, and it says something for VoicePlay that I had zero hesitation that they would elevate this song. They exceeded expectations.

Always loved the song. Now it's a whole new sound. As Geoff said, no one told them they couldn't do it. So they did it.

At least you could still talk at the end... poor Qofy just bailed cuz he was busted.... 🤣Great job

Eli went full rock beast mode and VioLayne was the icing on the cake. Geoff with those ridiculous drops and J and Cesar going off. THIS my dudes is an epic masterpiece and I sobbed like a baby when it first dropped.

Yep, brought me to tears, too - hearing Eli go into full rock beast mode, and then LAYNE! It was like my heart cracked when Eli went, and when Layne went off on violin I totally collapsed. Nothing but tears from the sheer beauty of it. I hope we don't have to wait 3 years again to hear Layne on violin. I've listened to this dozens of times now, and some thing that startled me in the beginning still stands out to me.... the way J attacks his phrases in his first solo section. He's known for smooth and still has that - but I don't ever remember that grit in his voice before. Impressive, and it was dead-on perfect.

Metallica is my all-time favorite as well as my brother's and sister's. This song made me fall in love with them when I was 11. When I saw the thumbnail 4 this I was like, "oh, please..." but WOW! 😲🤘🏻❤

Geoff has a tremendous knack/talent for arranging things that you'd think couldn't possibly work A Cappella style, Dream On and now this masterpiece! They all sounded so damned good, I forgot to breathe more than once. What a brilliant high to start the year on! 🎶🎻😊

When I tell you I was SO scared because the original is one of my favorite songs ever but they did their thing and it‘s GLORIOUS, still reduces me to an incoherent mess after like 50 listens

I love this more every time I hear it. LOVE hearing Eli’s mid range-what a beautiful voice he has. So glad to see J.None back with “the band.” Just feels complete. And he and Eli are the kings of riffs. So perfect. I wish we could have heard a longer solo from Cesar. I just keep feeling like we ain’t heard nothin’ yet from him. And Layne’s perc AND violin!!! ❤❤❤. And then we get Geoff’s gorgeous bass runs and drops-and his incredible arrangement. More ❤❤! Great reaction, Dennis! My feelings exactly! And by the way, you said you don’t have anything else to say? Qofy just up and left. LOL.

Almost 6 minutes of Perfection. I think this year they are going to really kill me. Just WOW! Geoff's bass drops and sick arrangement, VioLayne, rocker Eli and that scream, Cesar and J just killing it harmonizing, and an iconic song that should have never been good as a cappella but, VoicePlay..........

This one was absolutely amazing. I didn't think they could surprise me anymore but obviously i was WRONG!!

When I watched it I was in tears, so moved by their performance it was genius

I've been waiting impatiently for the reactors to get to see this; it's such an incredible creation. Just got home from a rough day at work, and this was exactly what I needed to see- Dennis punching walls, and Qofy walking off without a word, because the music these guys make is just that good. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: VoicePlay is on another level entirely. The stuff they are doing is insane, and utterly amazing.

Just when I thought to myself, "They don't surprise me anymore." WOW!

Did you notice that Lane was singing when he wasn't beat boxing or playing the violin. Awesome cover. Love the reaction.

Best part for me with this is it incorporates pieces from both the original Metallica version and the Godsmack cover whilst doing their own thing with it. Two words to describe this version: "Fucking Crisp"

I don't even like metal or Metallica particularly, but this is hands down the best VP has done and just an amazing song. I said it before, Geoff deserves a Grammy for this arrangement. One of my favorite little parts is Geoff's hum you hear all by itself of a second right before Eli starts the first verse. It is simply a beautiful hum. If you're at a Patron tier that you get the karaoke track, its so worth listening to to hear all that goes on behind whoever is leading.

Reverence. That's the word that comes to mind when hearing this cover. Voiceplay treated the song with such reverence. It is now my most favorite cover ever and there's some Powerhouse covers on that list I've never wanted to know what a group has thought of they're song and how another group covered it. This is the first time I've ever wanted to know. A Zoe's a splendid reaction

One thing that struck me is that J looks... surprisingly different. Like... not in a bad way, by any means, but you can see the... impact of him being in the Navy now, it feels like. And... it isn't even that he wasn't confident and handsome before, but there's a new kind of... sense of presence to him.

Could be wishful thinking, but I've often wondered if they haven't filled the fifth spot because they are holding it for J when he retires from military. Just something that's crossed my mind and yes, this is THE group. I've thought it since Friends on the Other Side when the five of them were together the first time. I love the guests they have and everything, but there is just something magical with these five together. It would be so awesome!

First off J.None, came and did this while he was on leave from the Navy, which was amazing, I also love where you expected a build but they kept it small and then did the same lyrics with the strong build.
