My first exposures to them was in a metal cd sampler in 1999 that has Embody the Invisible. Also first heard Opeth’s Nectar on that disc!

I got into them with the colony album also…but I’ve been into them the whole way….this is a culmination of their sound over the years

Yeah I certainly missed about 15 years worth of their career that I’m just now catching up on!

I like songs with clean/growl, to me it sounds a bit like Killswitch Engaged's "the signal fire", great👍🤘🔥 The guitar solo came from Chris Broderick, who was already with Megadeth, great musician ❤️🎸

Can't wait for this new album to drop next week! Not sure if you guys are familiar with Spiritbox but you should check them out. As a son writer I think you would really appreciate Courtney's lyrics. Maybe start with Rule of Nines.

There's a good chance you already know them if you know of In Flames, but if not I can recommend Dark Tranquility. Also a Swedish band, highly influential and contemporaries to In flames. In Flames has always been good at incorporate elements of swedish folk-music (even very sublte sometimes) which I really love, maybe that's what you're pickning up on? These new songs gives me hope, they sound really good now. With only 2 "original" members left in the band, and 3 americans I wonder if we can consider them a swedish band still? LOL... I don't really care - it's the music that's important - and it sounds good. Broderick is an amazing guitarist...
