The United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People hosted Dr. Hanan Ashrawi, Member of the Executive Committee of the PLO, for an interactive briefing on the margins of the 61st. Session of the Commission on the Status of Women. The briefing was moderated by Prof. Anne-Marie Goetz from NYU’s Center for Global Affairs and took place on 17 March 2017 in the Trusteeship Council Chamber of the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

The Commission on the Status of Women in the United Nations along with "enlighten men" as Dr Hanan Ashwari stated have a continued role to involved the world in addressing and acting on accountability and creating peace. We met in the 1990's at a Forum. It is wonderful to see this forum in 2024. "WE need to keep on moving forward, never turning back."

why couldn't Dr. Ashrawi try to do business and trade relations with the western world including the US years earlier? I know of her but I don't much about her and her contributions on behalf of Palestine. But the PLO has a nasty rep for good reason. US could have tried to help maintain the statehood for Palestine and did business with its resources...while extracting arms support from Israel. Israel was never any contribution to the US. Common sense to me....but bigotry got in the way I guess.

The U S is literally under the apartheid colony's thumb. The U S is in bad bad trouble, using tax dollars for investing in wars all over the Middle East, Africa, South East Asia, including funding several terrorist militias, to help with their geographical control and domination, worldwide. In a better world, yes the U S could've been a great investor in peaceful economy deals, instead of warmongering and taking over overseas territories. U S administrations literally murdered tens millions of human beings, and displaced hundreds of millions, in the Middle East and Africa, in order to reach oil fields and other natural resources. Hopefully the future U S administration can use a better way of spending tax dollars. U S citizens deserve far better than that.
