Israeli leaders insist on an open-ended war in Gaza until the Palestinian group Hamas is defeated, but this goal is a “fantasy”, argues former Israeli government adviser Daniel Levy.
Levy, president of the US/Middle East Project, tells host Steve Clemons that the biggest problem is the Joe Biden administration’s refusal to act as a superpower and stop bankrolling Israel’s war.

Israel's actions for the last 80 years have made it quite clear what they want. The US and Britain's actions are also clearly saying that they know what Israel wants and that they support it. All of these parties, Britain for about 100 years now, have been very consistent with their actions as it relates to this land and the people who live there. There is no need for any of them to verbalize what their intentions are. Actions speak louder than words.

One thing must be changed in the Israeli society to offer equality for the Palestinian people who are still refugees with a continual reduction of their land by illegal settlements. The shipping people in from other countries and nations that will hold dual citizenship as "settlers" must be stopped immediately. Many of these land thieves are bad actors, who see an opportunity to steal, kill and destroy with impunity. Others see an opportunity to glean the benefits from where they come from and from low cost housing, free medical and other opportunities from moving to a land their ancestors from the time of Babylonian captivity, never lived in or even wanted to return to, once they were free to do so, and they were. I've found it difficult to stomach seeing so many people who are walking around with such pride and arrogance, enjoying all the benefits of this regime who are obviously not from the region due to not only their appearance, but also how they speak. As an American veteran I resent our tax dollars of billions upon billions going to support them. I'm not alone in this sentiment. Americans are sick of it and those who've just been made aware of it are outraged by it. The Israeli apartheid military regime is not a democracy. Just as the Palestinian Authority needs to be changed, so does this regime.

In 1948 after Israel declared independence (end of british rule), Jordan army crossed the Jordan river into Judea & Samaria (known as the west bank by MSM) and east Jerusalem. The Jordan army killed or drove away the Jewish people. The Jordan army then destroyed Jewish property or took it over. Jordan then encouraged Jordanian settlement in the occupied land. Jewish property not destroyed became occupied by Jordanians. After the Israeli victory in 1967 and Jordnian disillusionment with their expansion effort (1988), Jordan revoked the Jordanian citizenship of "palestinians" in Judea & Samaria (known as the west bank by MSM) and east Jerusalem. For the most part "palestinians" are leftover Jordanian colonist (Gaza residents more closely tied to Egypt). The homeland of the majority of "palestinians" is Jordan.
As an American I have noticed for some time most middle eastern policy is directed out of Jerusalem with only minor deviations tolerated. AIPAC and JDL are very powerful here full of vengeance and victimhood towards any one who dares to speak against Israel. Very sad experience for those of us who pay attention to Gaza horrors.

I think everyone knows what Israel wants. Israel is simply an extension of British colonial power. British was responsible for over 165 million death under its colonialism. Sadly, it does seem like this war will go on for a while, I still get irritated every time someone calls those campus protests anti semitic. Being against Israel’s actions is not being against Jewish people. End this crisis NOW, PERMANENT CEASEFIRE NOW. To all those who have died, may you rest in peace and power. As a non Muslim, I pray that you will someday reunite with your family and friends in Jannah. I also pray that one day, Palestine and Israel’s children will live together in peace.

In every interview I've seen him, he's incredibly insightful, knowledgeable and precise, understanding the tetonic cultural shift towards learning about the Palestinian's plight and remind's me so much of the movement in the 80's to stop the Apartheid in South Africa. The curtain has been pulled back on Israel's myth of democracy, military supremacy and the 'most moral army' narrative and their neighbors have seen this...

I always like to hear anything Daniel Levy has to say. A truly intelligent man with an excellent grasp of the issue. What Daniel might not see, is that he himself, brings hope to the world with his acknowledgement of what Israel has done and his humanity as a Jewish man. Many of the people we are looking to these days for answers, are in fact Jewish. They are not running away.. they have become a voice for the voiceless. A strong voice for the Palestinian people! They amplify the voices of the great Palestinian scholars, whose voices are so often ignored. These people are in fact, the voices that are the saving grace of the world Jewish community. Honestly, if I believed all the Jews in the world supported what Israel has done and is doing and supported nationalistic Zionism, I would have to say that I would become anti-Semitic… something I would not ever want to be. The huge numbers of Jewish people opposing Israel right now, despite Israel practically having become their cultural and ideological identity over the decades, is breathtakingly beautiful. They are breaking free and standing with humanity. Gideon Levy, Ilan Pappe, Naomi Klein, Norman Finklestein, Noam Chomsky, all the Jewish students, Jewish voices for peace, code pink, breaking the silence and all the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of victims of the holocaust that are speaking out and protesting.
That man talks a lot of sense.
