Palestine - awakening the conscience of the World- Rev Munther Isaac
Rev. Munther Isaac is a prominent Palestinian Christian theologian, pastor, and academic. Born in Beit Sahour, a town near Bethlehem in the West Bank, his life and work are deeply intertwined with the Palestinian struggle for justice and peace.
Isaac obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Bethlehem Bible College and later pursued further studies in theology. He earned his Master of Arts in Theology from Wheaton College Graduate School in Illinois, United States, and completed his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in theology at the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies in the United Kingdom.
Throughout his academic journey, Isaac's research and writing have focused on themes related to the intersection of theology and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, particularly the Palestinian Christian perspective. He is known for his insightful analyses of the political, social, and theological dynamics in the region.
In addition to his scholarly pursuits, Munther Isaac is deeply involved in pastoral ministry. He has served as the pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Christmas Church in Bethlehem, one of the oldest churches in the Holy Land, with a rich history dating back to the Ottoman era.
Isaac is also an active advocate for peace and justice in the Israeli-Palestinian context. He has been involved in various initiatives aimed at promoting dialogue, reconciliation, and nonviolent resistance to the occupation. Thankyou very much Rev munther your sermon brought tears to my eyes as i remember my friend archbishop Hosam Naoum who served in our church St Clements in Grahamstown when he trained at the college of the transfiguration.We as south African have a very similar history to that of Palestine.We as South Africans , Moslem, Christian and Jews fought against apartheid.The apartheid regime did not discriminate between Moslem or Christian they killed moslems like Imam Haroon,just as Steve Biko a Christian.Longlivefree Palestine
He touched me deeply when he gave his Christmas sermon. I felt the pain and sacrifice of my Christmas brethren who could not celebrate as usual.
