... The ongoing debates about renaming everything honoring Dundas and the tarnishing of John A. MacDonald ARE ridiculous ! ... WE can't CHANGE our past mistakes but we CAN take ownership of them : Dundas and MacDonald were men of their own times - not ours and we should not diminish their importance to our Country's history because THEY didn't live up to OUR values. While I generally don't take lessons from the American experience, I must say that the US doesn't tear down the Washington Monument because George Washington owned slaves, nor are Thomas Jefferson and the other Founding Fathers of the United States demonized for the same practices. North American aboriginals killed and enslaved OTHER North American aboriginals, but we seem to let THAT one slide. It should ALSO be remembered that during the Atlantic Slave Trade, British and American slavers obtained their human cargo FROM African Native groups who had defeated their neighbors in raids and made a healthy profit by selling them to the White slavers ... not a POPULAR idea, I know, but it IS a verifiable one ... " Historians John Thornton and Linda Heywood of Boston University have estimated that of the Africans captured and then sold as slaves to the New World in the Atlantic slave trade, around 90% were enslaved by fellow Africans who sold them to European traders. @@waffles1ca ... Fair enough, but who then IS worthy of being honored in such a way ? And besides, people like MacDonald ARE - undeniably important to our history - whether they were perfect Human Beings by OUR current (and ever-changing) standards or not ...
If you give subsidies to renewables, you should give subsidies for nuclear.

In Canada we have almost to 100% subsidized nuclear power. I present Ontario as the example.
David is exhausted 😴
David is one rare and near instinct being An articulate and reasonable Conservative Intellectual Well anchored in reality End result oriented Not unquestionably tied to emotional and cultural ideology Not dehumanizing opponents Respcting the golden rule And self assured and mature enough to maintain a gentlemanly and respectful approach
Energy of the future? The Canadian electric grid is nearly 90% non GHG emitting today. With a population of 40 million, Canadians impact on the global climate is virtually nothing. Taking money from Canadians is the only purpose. The hubris of Canadians in the political classes is astonishing, while Canadian senior citizens suffer and die in the cold because the cost of heating is too high, INTENTIONALLY. Look to the UK for a vision of how much worse is to come on the poor frozen Nana front.
Carbon tax is a conservative idea. Like toll booths if you use it ,you pay. I think most Canadians objections is that the current Liberal party will squander the money

Ridiculous. Carbon taxes are the antithesis of conservatism. The entire premise is flawed. No jurisdiction anywhere has reduced CO2 emissions through carbon taxes. All they are, and all they have ever been intended to be, are cash cows, slush funds for ever expanding government. That's why they are anathema to conservatives.
to all those voting for Liberals should be financially responsible for this party’s wreckless money burning policies
As a left winger, I agree with much of what Mr. Frum says.

That's because David Frum has changed his views to leftism. He calls himself a heterodox conservative, but nothing he says these days is conservative. Compared to thinkers like Daniel Hannan, Thomas Sowell, or Niall Ferguson, Frum is very much a man of the left.
Great interview Thanks David
David, thanks very much. Your Mum would be proud!
I tend to discount ANYONE who cheer leaded the Iraq War.
America and the world needs Trump.

Speaking as an American without a mental disorder, you’re out of your fucking mind.
Mr Frum has his weakest argument ever with his defense of the carbon tax. Pollyanna would be proud
Wait.. this psychopath is not in jail?
Yr lieing about Trump

Uh no… Don the Con is a filthy criminal. We in the US have something we call courts that have demonstrated that. Oh, and a rapist.
It’s a wonder that this man is articulate and well spoken but this video garners less views than he deserves, the disparity? He arguments lack truth, he’s essentially a talking point head left winger, and his arguments beside being false and weak are incredibly boring
David From is no longer relevant or interesting . Sorry not worthy of the Hub.
