    You cannot practice cardiology. You will not be board certified in cardiology through this pathway. Only primary care. Insurance will only cover you as a primary care physician . The American board of cardiology would rarely accept through this pathway unless you were brilliant in your home country

    Hello Dr Iyer, I'm currently doing my oncology fellowship in Lebanon, I recently became became ECFMG certified after clearing my USMLE exams and will take the USMLE Step 3 exam at the end of the year. After I finish my fellowship in my home country next year, will doing 2 years of advanced fellowships in leukemia and lymphoma count towards obtaining a license to practice in the US? I prefer not to repeat my training all over again. NB: The hospital has an ACGME accredited hem-onc fellowship but the leukemia and lymphoma advanced fellowships are not ACGME accredited. Thank you for your insight.

    Thank you for the guidance, Dr.Lyer! I'm IMG, anatomic pathologist with 10years of experience and came to US 2years ago as a Research Fellow now I'm a research lab specialist lead. In the bill, the second criteria doesnt list USMLE as a requirement if IMG has practiced 3 of last 5 years and licenced in home country. I didn't take USMLE because of the busy nature of my current engagement. What is the opportunity for pathology in Tenesse? Do I have a hope? Thank you for your feedback! Best regards

    To get a license having an ECFMG is the safest bet. The bill can be different from the licensing requirements and this can be different from the hospital requirements. These are the things you will not find online! In my experience as i have seen, there are times when the hospitals have managed to hire IMGs without USMLE and you will have to find a hospital that is willing to do so! www.IMGSecrets.com

    Great question. In the field of radiology, both competition and demand are high. If you've completed your residency in the US, the demand for your skills increases. However, if your residency was completed outside of the US or Canada, the competition can be more intense. Regardless, you should aim to present a strong application to maximize your chances of success. www.IMGSecrets.com

    Hi I did General Surgery residency from India from 2001 to 2004. I passed my USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CS and CK, Step 3 from 2008 to 2009. I applied for general surgery residency. I wasn't successful. I was practicing general surgery in India till now. My family is in the US. I got my green card in 2021. Should I go for general surgery training or Internal Medicine training in the US, I am confused. I am interested in doing Family Medicine / Internal Medicine practice in the US. How I can do it in Tennessee. If this Tennessee offer is open now or it will be available in 2024 what is the best website of Tennessee I can go through.

    My daughter is a 12 grader. We live in California. She is interested in medicine, and we are exploring AIIMS New Delhi and JIPMER Pondicherry as an option. We are unsure if that is a good idea if she wants to return to the US for residency. ( she is a US citizen) The reason for the choice is 1. Significantly less cost of education in India compared to the US. 2. Number of years to complete education - five and half years vs. eight to nine years 3. Uncertainty around the MD admission process in the US. Can you please provide your perspective on this option.

  • @IMGSecrets

    @IMGSecrets

    To enter Canada as a specialist I typically recommend Clinical Fellowship. To improve your chances of securing fellowships in a competitive specialty, it's crucial to focus on strengthening your application. I must emphasize that, based on my understanding, completing MRCOG exams in India is unlikely to significantly impact your application. However, there are steps you can take to enhance your chances: identify suitable fellowships, craft a compelling personal statement, be prepared to have strong references. I recommend exploring www.IMGSecrets.com, where you can find valuable information and potentially book an appointment for further one-on-one guidance on your options. Remember, the competition is fierce, so invest time and effort into developing a robust application that highlights your unique qualities and dedication. Best of luck in your pursuit of fellowships!
