IKEA MARKUS Office Chair (Unboxing, Assembly and Operation)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

The highly regarded IKEA Markus Office Chair!
I just bought the IKEA Markus Office Chair after seeing several recommendations on this chair. Here's a really quick video on the unboxing, assembly and basic operations of the chair. I also included some basic measurements that may be useful.
*New Review Video Here: • IKEA MARKUS Chair Revi...
My Review: I really like it and it's great value for the price. I suggest you go to an Ikea and try it out yourself as different body types may or may not find it comfortable.

    Just added a new video on my impressions for the chair. kzread.info/dash/bejne/iKl5zLqKgZq_g9Y.html In short, It's great and comfortable but lack adjustable features prevent this from being great for all body types.

    +sendekyo I agree I had similar concerns. The headrest, armrest and lumbar support are all non-adjustable, which is unfortunate, so this chair isn't designed for every body type. I had to test it at Ikea first to verify it was perfect for me. I enjoy the mesh back as it doesn't feel warm or sticky sitting for long seasons, and the mesh still feels strong and supportive.

    Have you by chance also tried the IKEA FLINTAN chair? If so, which one do you like better (Because I've read some people preferring the Flintan chair over the much more pricey MARKUS which is interesting)? Also, I was looking at these chairs in their website and for some reason the vissle gray version www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00103102/#/70261145 is only 99 bucks compared to other colors that are nearly double the price...is it really just the color or is there something I'm missing?? Cuz 99 bucks for it seems like a steal, because idrc about the color. Old video but I hope you're still responding to comments !

    if i go to ikea store and buy it u think the boxes will fit in the trunk of a mustang? thinking of also buying the linnmon table, so maybe think i should rent a minivan? would be cheaper than paying $350 for shipping i would think?

  • @HelloDavid

    @HelloDavid

    8 жыл бұрын

    +TheRoshan89 Hmm.. The box is an awkward size of 59x23x99cm. It wouldn't fit in the trunk of my sedan but just barely fit in the backseats. The tables are even more difficult depending on how big of a table top you get. A minivan will fit everything easily.

    Hello RandomBit , great videos !! What do you think about this chair ? Is she confortable ? Because i hesitate with the steelcase think and the Markus ^^ Thanks again .

  • @HelloDavid

    @HelloDavid

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Romain Marand I find it really comfortable because I like firm and minimal chairs (I've used it for a month now), especially if I'm sitting in the chair for long periods of time. If you prefer softer cushions (i.e. do you like firm or soft bed mattresses?) or more supportive chairs like a car bucket seat there are different chairs you should look at. I haven't tired the Steelcase Think myself since it was out of my price range but a big advantage to potentially lean towards the Steelcase is if you need all the adjustments. As mentioned in another comment the Markus doesn't have many adjustable features.

    +Ahmad Fawzy I use this chair for my computer with a keyboard and mouse as well. The arm rests are too short for me to rest on them while using the keyboard and mouse but I typical don't rest my arms when using keyboard and mouse anyways so that's not an issue for me. Other than I have no issues using this chair for PC gaming. The lumbar support is in the right position for my ideal posture. The lumbar cushion pillow support zone is 13-23cm higher from the top of the seat base to the lumbar support area. Hopefully this wasn't too confusing and helps

    +Alex R lol... I prefer having a headrest so I'd say go with the Markus. The Linnmon/Adils desk is the staple budget computer desk. Can't go wrong with it for that for the price.

    this chair has one of the most rigid back support cushions ive ever seen, it feels like my back is leaning up against a rock.

    Yes it is stiff but I find it comfortable. It's a task chair so it's designed to be firmer then the the sofa cushion type chair. I find firm chairs more comfortable for longer sessions than soft pillow chairs

    7 years later, but, I I've had mine for god knows how many years as well, and I've finaly got fed up with the back support cushion. I just finished removing it, there are youtube videos showing you how. It's easy.

    This chair was fairly easy to put together, the instructions were clear and I was about to follow along with no issues at all. It took me about 20 minutes to assemble. kzread.infoUgkx5hPALGI87E991DRmXev8PUFJGrrRcONS I did stuff the back of the chair with a pillow so it wouldn’t be so hollow after taking all the pieces out but that’s just a personal preference. I also added a pillow for lumbar support because although this is a great chair and is comfortable, it’s not necessarily the best if you’re sitting 10+ hrs a day wfh but in all honesty for the price, I didn’t mind at all. It looks great in my space and easily adjusts the height when needed.

    You messed up at 1:08 The backrest plate should be tucked between the seat plate and the seat before screwing in those 3 screws. I know this is a 7 year old video and I'm sure your way still works, but just pointing out what the instructions go by :)

    You assembled it incorrectly, the three bolt seat plate should be infront of the backrest plate, not behind as you put it

    That was the reason I sought this video, because the diagrams for this step are poor. IMHO David assembled this stage correctly, though happy to admit I'm wrong if you can provide your rationale.
