you obviously did not follow the instructions especially concerning the power tool, they are not meant to be put in super tight ..

Have the same chair, but it can't lean back??

usually you pull outwards the switch first, then press it backwards and lean back

Had same problem, leaned forward instead of back... Turns out i assembled it backwards :(
