The best and most informative video I’ve ever heard on food & lifestyle. 3 years ago I had a stroke, decided to change things and after reading tons on healthy eating I changed to a Mediterranean diet and started exercising. I have now lost 3st 8lbs, my cholesterol which was over 6 is now 4 & have a ton more energy. I listen to all your podcasts Dr Chattergee and they are brilliant, keep up the good work.

Everyone should watch the food documentary "Fed Up"! Do schools teach food preparations and grocery shopping in high school anymore? In 1976 I was taking Home Economics which covered a lot of what you're saying here to teach the way of real food and preparations in the kitchen. Education is going to be the key to getting people back in control of their own health. I was fortunate to have a mom who stayed home and taught us 4 girls how to take care of ourselves, our family and our home while dad taught my 5 brothers how to be good workers. Education and understanding are paramount.

This talk was great . Dr. Hyman is a great speaker and has a wealth of information. Topics discussed were very pertinent for the issues we are facing today : global warming , the food industry scam , SMILE study all of it . However, this talk did not adress any way to reverse aging and that is the title of the presentation, so a bit misleading on that front . Your podcast with David Sinclair did a better job on that front .

I am Indian and definitely India is leading in diabetes.Indians are mostly vegetarian but definitely all of us love the sugar(I don’t know why). It’s used everywhere for festivals for marriage for pooja during fasts when a child is born. But one thing is definitely better here we have lots of vegetables and fruits which are way cheaper than packaged foods. So one has no choice but to cook from scratch. We make our own bread at homes. We still follow traditional way of eating where we eat dal, sabzi roti. However, most of Indians are drifting towards western diet. It’s creeping in very quickly in our society.I wish we maintain our traditional roots and eat what ancestors used to eat( except for sugar)

Plants are pro-inflammatory. We cannot digest plants. That’s why he recommends a plant-based diet to reverse disease, but it’s only short term. What we as humans are designed to eat is very simple; we have stomachs that digest food with highly acidic hydrochloric acid. Ruminants and Herbivores have stomachs that do not have hydrochloric acid, but rather an environment rich with microbes. Only microbes can break down plant material. A hydrochloric acid stomach can only digest animal foods. Animal foods are the only foods that nourish the human body.

I love your content but you really should be careful about restricting your kids from ‘unhealthy junk food’. When I was a kid my parents were very health oriented and that affected me in a positive way until I grew up as an adult and had the freedom to try and taste all sorts of things. So I ended up rebounding and eating a lot of unhealthy things for quite a while. Especially the freshman 15 when I was in university. So I would say it’s important to educate and show your children unhealthy food and allow it from time to time but not fully reject it.

What Dr Hyman doesn’t contemplate with his comparison of impossible burger v grass fed, is that 1) it’s impossible (no pun intended) to feed the meat market we have with grass fed regenerative farm beef, we don’t have the land on the whole planet earth to do that. Industrial farming exists because it’s needed due to the sheer volume of the market, and that takes me to 2) the impossible burger (as a metaphor for the vegan population) will only cause you to raise crops to feed people, not people + animals, animals which in turn eat a lot more than people. So you’d need less land, a lot less land, since most of our land is used for raising animals, and less production of crops overall. That allows you to do whatever you want with the soil, you can regenerate it by not using it, or rewild it, or plant trees, or do whatever you want. Also, it’s interesting he only talked about carbon, and not methane gas, which is what makes raising cows so damaging for the environment. This is all to say, the comparison he proposed is very disingenuous, and he knows it, he’s smarter than that.

so far that's true of course. Reversing aging isn't about living forever, it's about having more years and especially having more good years ahead of you. It's about spending your 70s traveling instead of being tied to a wheelchair. It's about not going blind and being able to remember your loved ones for your last 10 years. So now that I've admitted that, what's your point exactly? Is it pointless to strive for a better life because death is inevitable?

:3 #GoVegan 💚 Vegan versions are better. We have stuff that polls better in taste and texture than meat, according to meat consumers themselves. Even as Gordon Ramsay knows and now advocates for veganism, as opposed to before that he was actively anti-vegan!! (; Many vegan mockups you cannot tell the difference with, as even many top chefs were fooled in blind taste tests! 😍👏🔥🙌💚🔥 (; Robert Downey Jr went vegan too. He put in $40 million into a vegan mushroom mixed bacon that's top notch. Hehe. (; Vegan for the animals. Vegan for health. The only American contender in the last weightlifting Olympics was vegan and he beat the record for his weight class. He went vegan some years prior to that and only found himself getting stronger and healthier (he's also part Jewish like me hehe). The number one Formula One racer is vegan. Kevin Hart is vegan. Eminem's brother is vegan. Eminem invested in a vegan promoting business, Mom's Spaghetti. Billie Eilish is vegan, so is Ariana Grande, Bill Nye The Science Guy, the record holder for ocean swimming distance is vegan, the record holder for most running in 18 hours is vegan, etc. The great Nikola Tesla was basically vegan, but the word didn't exist then. Arnold Schwarzenegger is vegetarian, so was Leonardo da Vinci, so was Sir Issac Newton, so was Einstein, etc. The largest health study in the world, The China Study, accompanied by several other health studies and studies of early humans shows humans thrive on plant-based diets while animal-diets, even when cooked (lol) destroy the human body. The Game Changers documentary shows athletes (which NFL and plenty of sports are getting exposed to causing loads of brain trauma and mental abuse) and firefighters thriving on plant-based systems. They do blood work of NFL players, showing one morning of animal-based diets and one of the players which was already plant-based. The two of three animal-based players had very foggy blood while the plant-based athlete was very clean. The blood was not foggy the following morning with those same players who were not plant-based normally. The firefighters who had obesity and loads of high blood pressure shot down to safe levels in less than a month of going plant-based. What The Health had a lady go from many pills, a walker, oxygen bottles everyday, and doctors telling her she'll die at any moment to losing all of that and becoming very healthy in less than a month's time on a plant-based diet. 1 in 4 Americans die from heart disease each year, almost 700k/year. Over 50% of Americans are obese (lol….) and over 70% of Americans are overweight (according to debunked religion gluttony is a major sin....and thankfully material atheism is debunked too). Plant-based fills your stomach more with nutrition with less calories on average than meat. Type two diabetes comes from animal fat, officially. Type two diabetes has been reversed several times within three or so weeks of being plant-based. Several cancers are animal-based and have been reversed in a few or so weeks according to studies too. Bad cholesterol is exclusive to animal products. Erectile dysfunction is very known amongst non-vegans, as even fellow vegan James Cameron has said that veganism is the new Viagra. Chicken and beer (in our very fake and failed drug war) actually influence estrogen and have caused small penises and male boobs in men who consume a lot of it, unlike the debunked myth that soy causes higher estrogen in males when that's just phytoestrogens. So on and so forth. Vegan for world hunger elimination. To stop feeding 72 billion plus land animals that are raped into the world by humans (animal agriculture killing mostly the babies each year) while about 1 billion people starve everyday on our very depelted planet. About 40% of food/"food" is wasted in America each year, according to studies. Vegan for the planet. As about 91% of deforestation is animal agriculture. About 65% of soy crops go to feed animals. Tons of droughts of water from mass consumption. The comparison of how much water it takes to maintain a cow to have one burger equates to about 6 months of bath water for a human. Over 90% of big fish in the wild are depleted, and according to experts by 2045 all wild big fish will be wiped out. About 50% of farmed fish are what you find in the market, and studies show they're even more harmful than wild fish. About 85% of antibiotics in the world go to animal agriculture. Typical pharmaceutical antibiotics kill good bacteria too, unlike garlic and other potent antibiotics (which many people are unaware of how amazingly documented garlic is for its antibiotics effects in my ancestry Russian nation and abroad). The excessive cortisol and other things pumping through an animal that go into what you eat. The fact that epigenetics is proven a real thing, having diet, environment, and emotions play a large role in DNA structure. The fact is a lot of meat is just rotting after the animal is killed, regardless of being frozen. Breakouts of viruses and mass pollution from animal agriculture. How it especially affects poverty ridden areas where a lot of dumpsites are at and where a lot of nasty unhealthy smells (and screams of animals) are experienced from these areas. The world will hardly be habitable by 2050, scientists say. MIT computer predictions from the 70s are showing true of humans destroying themselves and the planet to disastrous levels by 2040. So on and so forth. #GoVegan 💚🔥👏👏
